Madness and Paul Weller triumph at Teenage Cancer Trust gig – photos and setlist

Madness and Paul Weller both performed triumphant sets at their Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall concert last night (24th March).

The fourth night of Teenage Cancer Trust’s series opened with Paul Weller stunning the audience with a reimagined acoustic set that spanned his solo career, The Jam and The Style Council.

Taking to the stage with his six-piece band, which featured Gem Archer of Beady Eye and Oasis fame and Steve Cradock of Ocean Colour Scene, Paul Weller performed a rousing 10-song set that kicked off with The Style Council’s ‘Headstart for Happiness’ and reached an epic conclusion with The Jam’s ‘English Rose.’

Keeping up the ante, Madness arrived on stage to rapturous applause and launched straight into their seminal anthem ’One Step Beyond.’

The euphoric set culminated with a rip-roaring run of ‘House of Fun’, ‘Baggy Trousers’, ‘Our House’ and ‘It Must Be Love’, before closing with the encore of ‘Madness’ and ’Night Boat To Cairo’.
