Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher will release a new tune before the end of 2020 as a taster of his third studio album, which follows in 2021.

Liam scored two consecutive number ones with his first two studio albums - ‘As You Were’ (2017), ‘Why Me, Why Not?’ (2019) – and he also hit the top spot in June of this year with his live album ‘MTV Unplugged’.

Answering fans’ questions on Twitter this afternoon, Liam has now confirmed that his next album will land in 2021, and there will also be a new song before the end of the year.

Asked if LP no.3 is “coming out this year or next year”, Liam replied: “Nxt year but I’ll give you a little tune this year to cheer youse up.”

Yesterday evening, Liam Gallagher was confirmed as one of the six headliners of Reading and Leeds Festival 2021. Also topping the bill at the dual hosted festival are Stormzy, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Post Malone, Disclosure and Queens of the Stone Age.

Liam, who was due to the headline the cancelled 2020 event, commented in his trademark style: “Reading and Leeds nxt year is gonna go off BIGTIME c’mon you f---ing know LG x”

Last week Liam rescheduled his free London The O2 show for NHS workers to 23rd May 2021. Original tickets remain valid and Liam will be joined by Primal Scream.
