Liam Gallagher has confirmed he will perform Oasis’ seminal debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’ in full in 2024 to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
Taking to Twitter this afternoon (11th May), Liam Gallagher surprised his fans by writing: “As it’s 30 years since DM was released nxt year I’m gonna be playing the album from start to finish in it’s original order at a few BIBLICAL venues LG x”
Originally released in August 1994, ‘Definitely Maybe’ was a pivotal album of the Britpop era and all 11 Noel Gallagher penned tracks are widely regarded as classics today.
Songs that featured on 'Definitely Maybe' included ‘Rock n’ Roll Star’, ‘Live Forever’, ‘Supersonic’, ‘Shakermaker’ and ‘Slide Away.’
To date it has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide including 2.4 million units Oasis’ native UK.
If Liam Gallagher decides to immortalise his ‘Definitely Maybe’ concerts as a live concert or album, it’s highly unlikely his older brother Noel Gallagher will give him the green light.
Last October, Liam berated Noel as an “angry squirt” after he blocked the usage of Oasis tracks in his Knebworth 22 concert film.
Asked by a fan if the Oasis tracks will feature, Liam replied: “No oasis songs as the angry squirt has blocked them he also blocked the oasis I sang for Taylor Hawkins tribute he’s a horrible little man.”
When a Twitter user said Noel had complimented him in a recent interview, Liam responded: “What he says and does are 2 different things he’s a sad little dwarf.”
He added: “It’s the only but (sic) of power he’s got left he knows he’s coasting into the oblivious (sic).”
Liam wrote a few hours later: "You can stop us using the songs but you can’t erase our memories shame on you Noel Gallagher."
