Liam Gallagher and John Squire are on course to storm straight in at Number 1 this week with their collaborative single ‘Just Another Rainbow.’

The Oasis and Stone Roses stars unleashed ‘Just Another Rainbow’ to the world last week as a digital download, on stream services and on limited-edition 7” vinyl.

According to the Official Charts Company, the song is currently sitting pretty at Number 1 in the UK singles chart ahead of last week’s chart topper, ‘Stick Season’ by Noah Kahan.

If ‘Just Another Rainbow’ holds strong at the chart summit, it will be Liam Gallagher’s first Number 1 single since he notched up eight chart-toppers with Oasis.

In his solo career, Liam has amassed five solo Number 1 albums, with ‘Knebworth 22’ becoming his latest last year.

Incredibly, John Squire has never scored a Number 1 album or single in his glittering career with The Stone Roses, the short-lived Seahorses, and as a solo artist.

‘Just Another Rainbow’ is the first taster of an eagerly awaited album from Liam Gallagher and John Squire that’s close to completion.

Liam told Apple Music: “There’s 10 (songs) on the album, but we’ve done eight. We demoed eight of them in John’s studio and then John done another two songs and we recorded them for the first time. Sang them for the first time out in America in LA.”
