Liam Gallagher honoured with blue plaque outside Lidl ahead of Manchester concerts
Well deserved

Oasis legend Liam Gallagher has been honoured with a coveted blue plaque outside a Lidl store in Manchester ahead of his ‘Definitely Maybe’ concerts in the city.
When the opening concerts at the all-new Manchester Co-op Live venue were postponed or moved due to technical issues back in April and May, Liam Gallagher joked he’d do a “gig in Lidl” if his ‘Definitely Maybe’ 30th anniversary shows were affected.
Fortunately, the state-of-the-art 23,500-capacity venue opened with Elbow concert on 14th May and Liam Gallagher’s two shows at Co-op Live on Saturday and Sunday are going ahead as planned.
Making light of the situation, Lidl has unveiled a tongue-in-cheek commemoration to the ‘what could have been’ moment - by installing a blue plaque.
Located at the Lidl Newton Heath store in Manchester, closest to the arena, this morning (13th June), the plaque is emblazoned with the words ‘LIAM GALLAGHER, LEGEND ‘ALMOST PLAYED HERE’ JUNE 2024’
