Liam Gallagher has spoken to Absolute Radio about turning the big 5-0 today (21st September) and he says he’s “buzzing” to still be here.

The Oasis legend joined Dave Berry for a typically hilarious chat on his breakfast show last week when the subject moved the Liam’s half-a-century milestone.

“It’s not (just) another day, man,” Liam said of his 50th birthday. “I’m definitely proud to be here. 50, it’s a biggun, man, without a doubt!

“I don’t celebrate my birthdays that much, I just sort of celebrate every day y’know what I mean. But this time I’m gonna try and go in and have a nice long week of celebrations.

“But yeah, I’m buzzing, man. It’s great being alive, man. Whether it’s 60, 50, 2, 4 or 7, I’m just happy to be here.”

Asked by Dave if he’s planning anything special, Liam replied: “I don’t want anything special - nothing. I’ve got everything I need, man. I just want to have a good time and no aggro y’know what I mean. That’s it, man.”

Confirming he’s going on a break, Liam added: “We’re going away and that. Y’know what I’ve already told people where we’re going so I’m probably going to get my house robbed!

“But we’ve cancelled it now, we’re gonna hire Flip Out in Brent Cross so if you think you’re gonna come round my house and rob it you’ve got another thing coming! I’ll be flipping out if I see you coming up my garden path with your little stripy top on and your swag bag!”

You can watch the full Liam Gallagher interview below where he discusses how he creates the best possible setlist at live shows, why he never does DIY, being very self-critical, his unrivalled hatred of dish washers, and why he has no time for people who ‘whimper around the microphone.’

Liam Gallagher played his last UK show of 2022 last Thursday (15th September) at Alexandra Head in Cardiff. He plays Abu Dhabi in the UAE next month before embarking on a South American tour in November.
