Foals for Kendal Calling

To mark its landmark 15th birthday in style, Kendal Calling boasts its biggest line-up yet with Oxford’s prodigal sons Foals, Welsh indie-rock legends Stereophonics, the recently reunited Supergrass and influential music legends Primal Scream all topping the bill.

Also on the phenomenal line-up across the weekend are acts including Blossoms, The Kooks, Johnny Marr, You Me At Six, DMA’s, Pale Waves, The Zutons, Dizzee Rascal, Reef, Elvana (the planet’s premier Elvis fronted Nirvana tribute band), Sister Sledge, Jade Bird, Sundara Karma and The Lancashire Hotpots.

Stereophonics for Kendal Calling

For the very first time in Kendal Calling history, there will be comedy on the Main Stage from the inimitable Bill Bailey.

The comedy icon enthuses: “I’m delighted to be playing the 15th Kendal Calling. This will be my first time at this great festival... I love performing to new crowds, and I love the Lakes so this is the perfect combo for me!”

For the dance music aficionados out there, the Afterglow area (previously the Glow Tent) will feature sets from Andy C, Hannah Wants, Jungle (DJ Set), DJ Yoda: History of Gaming, 808 State, Dub Phizik & Strategy, Jaguar Skills, All Back To Bez’s DJ Set, Emerald and many more.

Elsewhere, there are delights to be found on the Woodlands Stage (curated by Frank Turner), Chai Wallah, Tim Peaks and Yam Riot.

Kendal Calling director Andy Smith says: “This is it! This is our most staggering lineup yet, to celebrate our 15-year journey.

“We have been trying to get Foals on the bill for many years, and it’s long been a dream to have Supergrass and their very large back catalogue of hits joining us - the first album I ever bought! But what would a birthday party be without old friends? We are happy campers indeed knowing that Stereophonics, Primal Scream and Dizzee Rascal will be joining us in the fields.

“The music is only part of the fun - this year more than any other we’re really ramping up immersive activities and games right across the park and very excited to be announcing a whole line-up of new areas, venues, activities and events over the coming months. Roll on summer!”
