Kasabian announce epic homecoming gig
Their only UK show of 2020
Last updated 26th Feb 2020
Kasabian have announced a very special homecoming show at Leicester’s Victoria Park on Saturday 20th June 2020.
After teasing an announcement on social media over the weekend, the band have now confirmed that the Solstice II show will take place next summer and it’s their only UK concert of 2020.
It follows their first Summer Solstice: Live in Leicester show at the same venue in June 2014, which was immortalised on DVD as a bonus disc on the deluxe edition of their fifth studio album ’48:13’.
Solstice II is Kasabian’s first UK gig since their relatively intimate London O2 Academy Brixton gig in August 2018. It’s also their first outdoor concert since they headlined Isle of Wight Festival earlier that summer.
Special guest at Leicester Victoria Park is chart-conquering sensation Sam Fender, with easy life and Inhaler also on the bill.
Serge Pizzorno said: “We’re absolutely buzzing to be able to put on Solstice II in our hometown of Leicester. Anyone who came last time would know how special it was and to get the opportunity to do it again is beyond a dream.”
Tickets will be high in demand when they go on sale from Absolute Radio Tickets at 9am on Friday 25th October.
Kasabian guitarist and songwriter Serge Pizzorno is currently working hard on Kasabian’s seventh studio album after releasing his self-titled solo album under the moniker The S.L.P earlier this year.
Alongside lynchpin Serge, Kasabian features singer Tom Meighan, bassist Chris Edwards, drummer Ian Matthews and touring guitarist Tim Carter.
