Kasabian tease fans with cryptic post

Leicester’s prodigal sons Kasabian have teased their legions of fans with a cryptic post on social media.

At 10am on Saturday morning (19th October), the iconic artwork for Kasabian’s self-titled 2004 debut album was posted synchronously to the band’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Emblazoned in bold yellow lettering alongside the masked figure is the word ‘SOLSTICE’.

With no further morsels of information revealed by Tom Meighan, Serge Pizzorno, Chris Edwards and Ian Matthews, fans have been left guessing about what the post means.

Many are speculating that Kasabian are planning a celebration of their breakthrough debut album - either as an expansive reissue or at a concert.

One user suggested that the ‘SOLSTICE’ could be a reference to Kasabian’s massive homecoming gig at Leicester’s Victoria Park on 21st June 2014. Songs from that historic original gig were broadcast on Absolute Radio in July 2014.

Another tweeted that it could be referring to Winter Solstice, so there could be a gig, album reissue or another event on Sunday 22nd December.

We’ll wait with baited breath for Kasabian to reveal all.

Kasabian’s last studio album ‘For Crying Out Loud’ was released in May 2017 and stormed in at number one on the UK album chart.

The band’s last UK concert took place at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on 23rd August. They last performed live in Sao Paulo, Brazil in September 2018.
