Kasabian performed their first live concert in almost three years – and their first since the departure of Tom Meighan – at Glasgow O2 Academy last night (Wednesday 13th October).

The 2,500-capacity show was the opening date of Kasabian’s sold-out headline UK tour, and the new incarnation of the band were met with a typically euphoric Glasgow welcome.

Contrary to previous reports, Kasabian founder and songwriter Serge Pizzorno served as the band’s lead vocalist and frontman at the show, and he ditched his guitar for several numbers to bounce around the stage.

The Music’s Rob Harvey, previously touted in the press as the band’s new singer, appeared on stage as a touring musician performing additional guitar and backing vocals.

Kasabian’s 18-song set kicked off with 2004 anthem ‘Club Foot’ and featured a glut of classic songs including ‘You’re In Love With a Psycho’, ‘Underdog’, ‘Empire’, ‘Vlad The Impaler’ and ‘L.S.F. (Lost Souls Forever)’ before reaching an epic conclusion with traditional set closer ‘Fire.’

Set rarities included the first performance of ‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’ track ‘Ladies and Gentlemen (Roll the Dice)’ in 12 years, and the first outing of ‘Happiness’ in a decade. See Kasabian’s full setlist below.
