Watch Jack White propose and get married on stage at Detroit concert

Jack White kicked off North American Supply Chain Issues Tour in his native Detroit on Friday night (8th April) by proposing and swiftly getting married on stage.

The 46-year-old musician was midway through a rendition of The White Stripes’ ‘Hotel Yorba’ 13 songs into his set at the Masonic Temple Theatre in Detroit when he stopped the music and called his girlfriend Olivia Jean onstage.

White whipped out a ring and proposed to Olivia Jean, who had earlier performed a solo set at the venue, and she thankfully said ‘yes.’

Wasting absolutely no time, Jack White then invited his mother, Jean's father and an officiant on stage to make the marriage official to huge cheers from the crowd.

Now fully married, White completed the set by performing The Raconteurs’ ‘Steady As She Goes’ and final track ‘Seven Nation Army’ by The White Stripes.

Sharing a photo of the moment he proposed on Instagram, Jack White quoted the lyrics from ‘Hotel Yorba’: “Let’s get married in a big cathedral by a priest.”

Although phones are frowned upon at Jack White concerts, one fan did manage to capture the wedding surreptitiously:

Jack White was previously married to his White Stripes band mate Meg White from 1996 to 2000, and to musician Karen Elson from 2005 to 2013.
