Green Day have released a video for their brand new song ‘Here Comes The Shock.’

Clocking in at two-and-a-half-minutes, the pop punk gem got its debut at the National Hockey League event NHL Outdoors at Lake Tahoe on Saturday (20th February) and now the accompanying video has been unveiled.

The ‘Here Comes The Shock’ video sees Punk Rock Aerobics co-founder Hilken Mancini perform a high-energy aerobics routine to the track featuring some obligatory air guitar.

The lyrics include Billie Joe Armstrong singing: "We got the numbers/ Gonna rumble in the street/ We're screaming bloody murder/ We're gonna take it to the grave."

‘Here Comes The Shock’ is Green Day’s first musical output since their February 2020 album ‘Father of All...’, which stormed straight in at number one in the UK.

During lockdown in 2020, Billie Joe Armstrong kept himself busy with his No Fun Mondays quarantine sessions, which saw him perform tracks by John Lennon, Prince, Kim Wilde, Billy Bragg and many more. 14 of the songs were released as the Billie Joe Armstrong solo album ‘No Fun Mondays’ last November.

Green Day’s Hella Mega Tour with Fall Out Boy and Weezer is still scheduled to visit the UK in June for stadium shows in Glasgow, London and Huddersfield. There has been no update on the status of these concerts in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
