Florence + The Machine premiere video for new song 'Heaven Is Here'
It was filmed in Ukraine last November
Florence + The Machine have premiered the music video for their powerful new song ‘Heaven Is Here.’
Following hot on the heels of last month’s single ‘King’, ‘Heaven Is Here’ comes with a visually striking video that was directed by Autumn de Wilde and filmed in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on 20th November 2021.
Florence Welch says of the track: “‘Heaven is Here’ was the first song I wrote in lockdown after an extended period of not being able to get to the studio.
“I wanted to make something monstrous. And this clamour of joy, fury and grief was the first thing that came out.
“With dance studios also shut it was my dream to one day create choreography with it. So, it’s one of the first pieces of music I have made specifically with contemporary dance in mind.”

Florence later revealed on Twitter that two of the dancers who feature in the video, Maryne and Anastasiia, are currently sheltering following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
She wrote: “Two of the dancers in this video are currently sheltering. To my brave and beautiful sisters Maryne and Anastasiia I love you. I wish I could put my arms around you. Strength.”
No details have been revealed about a new Florence + The Machine album, but it’s hoped that both ‘King’ and ‘Heaven Is Here’ will feature on the follow-up to June 2018’s ‘High as Hope.’
Florence + The Machine play a clutch of European festival shows this summer including NOS Alive in Portugal and Flow Festival in Finland.
