Oasis have said they are "shocked and saddened" after a man fell to his death during the band’s show at London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday 2nd August.
The Metropolitan Police said on Sunday (3rd Aug) that officers and medics at the venue responded to reports that a man in his 40s had been injured at 22:19 BST.
The man "was found with injuries consistent with a fall" and was pronounced dead at the scene, a spokesperson for the force said.
They added: “The stadium was busy, and we believe it is likely a number of people witnessed the incident, or may knowingly or unknowingly have caught it on mobile phone video footage.”
The police also asked that anyone with information on the incident to contact them.
Reports suggest that the man fell from an upper tier of the venue. Speaking to The Guardian, fans described seeing the man fall from the upper tier of Wembley’s block 511, on to the aisle between block 211 and block 210.
"There were loads of people who just kept going down to the front and leaning right over. One guy was stopped but after that no security came down" explained Oasis fan John, speaking to the paper.
Other fans raised concerns at the amount of beer spilled on the floor of the stands, saying that the conditions were "really slippy".
Oasis said in a statement they were “shocked and saddened” to hear of the news,.
They added: “Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.”
Saturday's concert was part of seven sold-out reunion concerts at Wembley Stadium, following a string of dates in Cardiff and Manchester.
