Watch Elton John perform 'Will We Talk?' with Sam Fender at Oscars party
An incredible moment
Elton John joined Sam Fender on stage for a rousing rendition of ‘Will We Talk?’ at the Rocketman’s annual Oscars party on Sunday night (9th February).
A huge fan of the ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ singer, Sir Elton personally booked Sam Fender to perform at his 28th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party in West Hollywood, California.
To huge cheers from the crowd at the charity bash, 72-year-old Elton John joined Sam Fender on stage during the set and they traded vocals on Sam’s heartland rock anthem ‘Will We Talk?’

On the same night at the main Oscars ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Elton John and his songwriting partner Bernie Taupin won Best Original Song for ‘(I'm Gonna) Love Me Again’ from the blockbuster Rocketman biopic about Sir Elton’s rise to fame.
Performing with Elton John at his Oscars party is just the latest ‘pinch me’ moment for Sam Fender after an incredible year that’s seen him top the charts with his debut album ‘Hypersonic Missiles’, win the BRITs Critics Choice Award, meet his hero Alan Shearer, embark on a series of sold-out headline tours and play festivals around the globe.
Sam Fender spoke to Absolute Radio about his meteoric rise to fame last autumn:
Sam Fender is nominated in the New Artist of the Year category at this year’s BRIT Awards. He will go head-to-head with Lewis Capaldi, Mabel, Dave and Aitch in the category on Tuesday 18th February 2020 at The O2 in London.
He’s also playing a series of festivals this summer including Neighbourhood Weekender in Warrington on Saturday 23rd May, Isle of Wight Festival on Saturday 13th June, and TRNSMT Festival at Glasgow Green on Friday 10th July.
