Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl made a brief cameo at a charity concert in Los Angeles on Tuesday night (16th August) to perform a cover of the easy listening anthem ‘Summer Breeze’ with Tenacious D and Beck.

Filmmaker Judd Apatow organised the his eponymous ‘Judd Apatow & Friends’ benefit concert at Largo in Los Angeles to raise money for Victims First, a charity that helps victims and witnesses to cope and recover from the impact of the crime.

Tenacious D were one of the big-name performers on the night, and they treated attendees to covers including REO Speedwagon's ‘Keep On Loving You’ and The Rolling Stones' ‘Dead Flowers.’

Jack Black and Kyle Gass also launched into a rendition of Seals and Crofts’ ‘Summer Breeze’ alongside Beck, Foo Fighters producer Greg Kurstin and actor John C. Reilly.

Towards the end of the performance, Dave Grohl walked on from the side of the stage and added some backing vocals and handclaps to the cover.

Largo Los Angeles wrote on Instagram: “It wasn't enough that #JuddApatow threw a benefit for @victimsfirstorg and invited #Beck to do a set (accompanied on the piano by mega producer #GregKurstin)... then #TenaciousD were like, how about we do some songs too (thank you #JackBlack and #KyleGass)...so of course #JohnCReilly happened to find himself onstage for the inevitable collaboration jam between these two musical giants...

“... but THEN... out of seemingly nowhere #DaveGrohl figured he would contribute "Yacht-rock musical sound effects" at the chorus.

“Nothing is more fun than a Judd benefit show.”

Dave Grohl’s next scheduled live performance is with Foo Fighters at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert at London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday 3rd September.

Yesterday, more big names were added to the line-up including AC/DC's Brian Johnson, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, The Darkness’ Justin Hawkins and blink-182’s Travis Barker.

Beginning at 4.30pm UK time, the London concert will also be streamed live on MTV’s YouTube Channel.
