The Foo Fighters legend made a surprise appearance
Last updated 19th Dec 2022
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl made a surprise appearance at Billie Eilish's show at the Kia Forum in California last night (15th December).
Eilish, who headlined Glastonbury over the summer, was performing the acoustic segment of her set when she told the screaming audience: “I would like to invite a friend of mine (on stage). You knew it was coming! Everybody please make some noise for Dave Grohl!”
Dave Grohl then walked on stage armed with his acoustic guitar and, once sat upon his stool, he told the crowd: “I have to say, earlier this year all of Foo Fighters and our families gathered together at my house to watch the Grammys.
“When Billie came out in her Taylor Hawkins T-shirt, the room was filled with real tears of love and gratitude. So from our families who are here tonight, the Hawkins family and everyone, we’d like to thank you very much for that.
“So, let’s sing it for Taylor.”
The 64th Annual Grammy Awards took place on 4th April just 10 days after Taylor Hawkins’ death in Colombia aged 50.
