Daft Punk announce split after 28 years - watch video

Legendary French electronic music duo Daft Punk have seemingly split up after 28 years together.
The enigmatic duo - Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter – released a mysterious eight-minute video this afternoon (22nd February) called ‘Epilogue’ that appears to confirm their end.
Set to atmospheric music, the video is a shortened clip from their 2006 film Electroma and it sees Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter traverse a barren desert.
Pitchfork has since asked their long-time publicist Kathryn Frazier whether the video confirms Daft Punk are no more and she confirmed it’s sadly true.

Daft Punk formed in Paris in 1993 and released four studio albums during their glittering careers – ‘Homework’ (1997), ‘Discovery’ (2001), ‘Human After All’ (2005) and 2013’s ‘Random Access Memories’ – together with the soundtrack album to Tron: Legacy in 2010.
Their ubiquitous Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers collaboration ‘Get Lucky’ stormed to number one in the UK in 2013 and they’ve scored Top 10 hits on these shores with ‘Da Funk’, ‘Around The World’ and ‘One More Time.’
For all their brilliance on record, it was in the live arena where they excelled with their truly jaw-dropping stage production.
Sadly their gigs were rarer than hens’ teeth and the last time they performed in the UK was 14 long years ago when they played Wireless Festival and RockNess.
