Bob Dylan announces 'no phones' November 2024 UK tour
Mobile phones are once again strictly prohibited
Bob Dylan has announced a new headline UK tour for November 2024, where mobile phones are once again strictly prohibited.
The 83-year-old music pioneer previously banned mobile phones at his October 2022 UK trek, and his 10 dates this autumn on the next leg of the Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour are also phone-free.
Dylan’s shows are in partnership with Yondr, and dedicated staff from the company will be available to help ticketholders put their phones in a locked and secure pouch, which fans will keep with them throughout the evening.
In the event of an emergency, attendees can unlock their phones at any time by going to a dedicated and signposted area, intended for phone use.
Other artists who have used Yondr in recent years include Jack White, Arctic Monkeys and Ghost.
Dylan’s new UK tour opens at Bournemouth BIC Windsor Hall on Friday 1st November and visits Liverpool, Edinburgh, Nottingham and Wolverhampton before culminating with three nights at London Royal Albert Hall.
The stage times for each of the shows will be 7.30pm, except London where Dylan will take to the stage at 8pm.
Tickets go on sale from Planet Rock Tickets at 9am on Friday 17th July 2024.
Explaining why the tour is phone-free, Dylan’s representatives said: “We believe it creates better times for everyone in attendance.
“Our eyes open a little more and our senses are slightly sharper when we lose the technological crutch we've grown accustomed to. And yes, it's a non-negotiable deal (although medical exemptions are made for those who rely on their phone for treatment).”
