Stockport’s beloved sons Blossoms have premiered their brand new song ‘Care For’ and its very stylish video.

Produced by The Coral's James Skelly and Rich Turvey, who have helmed all three of Blossoms’ studio albums to date, sonically ‘Care For’ sees the band delve into 70s territory and nods towards ABBA, The Bee Gees and The Real Thing, amongst others.

Naming some other influences, Blossoms frontman Tom Ogden says: “I spent a lot of lockdown listening to The Style Council, Diana Ross, John & Yoko’s Double Fantasy & Billy Ocean.

“In my head, they all come together on this tune, to help create the ultimate end of the evening, wedding disco dance.”

The accompanying very chic video sees Blossoms don sharp suits and it was directed by Edwin Burdis, Arctic Monkeys’ former Creative Director who worked on the band’s ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’ and ‘AM’ albums.

‘Care For’ is Blossoms’ first new song since their double A-side Christmas single ‘Christmas Eve (Soul Purpose)’/’It’s Going To Be A Cold Winter’, which came out in November 2020.

Blossoms kick of their rescheduled UK tour at Hull’s Bonus Arena on 30th August, and the trek also includes a gargantuan headline show at Manchester’s AO Arena and a three-night residency at O2 Forum Kentish Town in London.

In September they support Courteeners at their sold-out Old Trafford Cricket Ground in front of 50,000 fans.

Announced earlier this week, Blossoms also support George Ezra at his epic show at London’s Finsbury Park on Sunday 17th July 2022.

Tickets to the George Ezra show go on sale from Absolute Radio Tickets at 9am on Friday 20th August 2021.
