The nominations for The BRIT Awards with Mastercard have been revealed with Wet Leg, Arctic Monkeys and The 1975 all receiving multiple nods.
During the livestream Bring on The BRITs with Mastercard: The 2023 Nominations this afternoon (12th January), hosts Vick Hope and Jack Saunders took viewers through the shortlist for 12 different categories.
The winners will be revealed at a star-studded ceremony at The O2 on Saturday 11th February, which is hosted by Mo Gilligan and will be broadcast on ITV and ITVX.
Alternative / Rock Act promoted by Absolute Radio:
For the second consecutive year, Absolute Radio is proud to promote the Alternative / Rock Act category at the BRITS.
One of four categories voted for by the great British public, the five acts nominated are Arctic Monkeys, Wet Leg, The 1975, Nova Twins and Tom Grennan.
Voting will open at midday on Thursday 19th January 2023 on Absolute Radio’s TikTok channel.
Wet Leg and Harry Styles lead nominations:
Including Alternative / Rock Act, Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers have a total of FOUR nominations – the joint most nods alongside pop superstar Harry Styles.
Wet Leg are also up for Mastercard Album of the Year for their self-titled debut record, Group of the Year and Best New Artist. The duo will also perform live at the ceremony next month.
The 1975 have a total of three nominations including Mastercard Album of the Year and Group of the Year, while Arctic Monkeys are in the latter category alongside Alternative / Rock Act.
Other acts vying for BRIT Awards across the dozen categories include Lewis Capaldi, Stormzy, Beyonce, Sam Ryder, George Ezra, Ed Sheeran, Elton John, Fontaines DC, Kendrick Lamar, Taylor Swift, Lizzo, Dua Lipa and Calvin Harris.
In December, The BRITs announced the winner of this year’s Rising Star award as FLO, the first ever group to win this award.
They join the list of incredible artists who have won the award in previous years including Adele, Florence + The Machine, Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding, Emeli Sande, Griff, and last year’s winner, Holly Humberstone.
