AC/DC kick off European Power Up Tour – photos, video and setlist

AC/DC opened their European summer 2024 Power Up Tour in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on Friday night (17th May).

The sold-out show in front of 62,000 fans at Veltins-Arena was the opening date of 24-date trek that culminates at Dublin Croke Park in August, and includes two colossal concerts at London Wembley Stadium.

Opening with ‘If You Want Blood (You've Got It)’ and closing with ‘For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)’, AC/DC treated the German crowd to a hit-packed 24-song set that was largely the same as their comeback show at Power Trip festival last October.

The Gelsenkirchen gig was the first AC/DC concert to feature former Jane’s Addiction’s bassist Chris Chaney, who was drafted in to replace Cliff Williams.

Drummer Matt Laug is also performing on the European trek after making his debut at Power Trip, alongside singer Brian Johnson, lead guitarist Angus Young and rhythm guitarist Stevie Young.

AC/DC play a second show at Gelsenkirchen Veltins-Arena on Tuesday (21st May) before playing Reggio RCF Arena in Italy on Saturday night (25th May).

The Pretty Reckless are the very special guests on the entire European run.
