This year, Taylor Swift surprised fans by releasing a brand new album called 'Folklore'. The singer took to her socials to share a black and white, grainy photo of a herself sitting in a forest looking up at the sky.

And now, a few months on from release, Taylor's album has reached a major milestone - selling more than 1 million copies of the album and becoming the first album to do so this year. This album, which is Taylor's ninth to sell more than 1 million copies is the follow-up to her 2019 record 'Lover' which spawned hits such as 'ME!' and 'You Need to Calm Down'.

This milestone comes just a week after Taylor told her fans that there might be cat hair and white wine marks included with her signed CDs. The singer took to Twitter to explain why, saying, 'Along with the signed cd, some lucky purchasers of these items may even receive complimentary cat hair stuck inside the pages. Or the aromatic scent of white wine I occasionally spill while signing. #Caturday https://store.taylorswift.com'. (sic)

So far, Taylor has released four songs from her latest album, including 'Cardigan', 'Betty' and 'The 1'. 'Folklore' has now been nominated for a number of awards, as well as being awarded a Guinness World Record for Most day-one streams of an album on Spotify (female).
