Country singer Morgan Wallen was all set to appear on this weekend's episode of Saturday Night Live in New York, but he's now been dropped by the show after footage appeared of him apparently partying, without socially distancing.

Morgan, who is known for his songs 'Whiskey Glasses', and '7 Summers', has since taken to Instagram to share a video where he apologises to SNL and his fans, admitting he has, "some growing up to do".

He explained in his Instagram video, "I got a call from the show letting me know that I will no longer be able to play, and that’s because of Covid protocols, which I understand."

Continuing, "I’m not positive for Covid but my actions this past weekend were pretty shortsighted and they have obviously affected my long-term goals and my dreams."

Morgan went on to say that he respected the show's decision.

This follows the emergence of videos on TikTok showing Morgan partying, kissing girls and doing shots.

Last weekend was the first time Saturday Night Live had taken place in months, after the Coronavirus Pandemic hit earlier this year. Presented by Chris Rock, the show featured Megan Thee Stallion, Jim Carrey and Alec Baldwin.
