We are well into awards season now and last night saw the best of the music industry gather in Los Angeles for the annual GRAMMYs. This year the 62nd GRAMMY awards started with a tribute to Kobe Bryant, the basketball legend who passed away just hours before in a helicopter crash alongside his daughter Gianna. Throughout the awards ceremony they held a spotlight on his retired jersey.

Hosted by Alicia Keys, the night featured performances from Lil Nas X, who dedicated his performance of 'Old Town Road' to Kobe, along with host Alicia, Demi Lovato and Lizzo. Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani also duetted on 'Nobody But You', but unfortunately Blake missed out on the award for Best Country Solo Performance to Willie Nelson.

When it came to Country music there were several big wins on the night, including Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus who won two GRAMMYs, for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Music Video for 'Old Town Road', Willie Nelson took the award for Best Country Solo Performance, with 'Ride Me Back Home' and Tanya Tucker won Best Country Album and Best Country Song for 'Bring My Flowers Now'.

Dan + Shay also took home a GRAMMY for Best Country Duo/Performance for their hit 'Speechless' which is a love song inspired by their wives. Taking to the stage the pair thanked their wives, "Thank you to my wife, Abby, who's in the crowd down there, for inspiring every song that we write, for inspiring everything we do in our lives," Dan said, adding, "Shay's wife Hannah, who's at home in Nashville, we love you."

Billie Eilish was the big winner on the night with a massive five awards to her name. The 18-year-old singer won Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Best New Artist, Song of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. She also made history by becoming the youngest artist to make a clean sweep of the four big categories.
