Dolly Parton teases a new collaboration with Elton John
She received a phone call from Elton
Country legend Dolly Parton joined us on Absolute Country Radio on the day her album 'Rockstar' was released. The singer, best-known for her country hits like '9 to 5' and 'Jolene' has now released her first rock album and spoke to Baylen Leonard, all about it.
Dolly's tracklist includes a song featuring none other than Elton John, and now the singer has revealed that the 'Rocket Man' singer has been in touch with her again!
Despite Elton doing his final tour, Dolly confirmed he hasn't stopped making music saying: "I know he hasn't quit, he must be doing some new music, because I had a call from him three days ago, saying 'hey! I sang on your record, will you sing on mine?'
"And I said, 'well absolutely!' I don't know what it is yet, but I know he's still going to continue with his music, maybe just recording or doing special things, like I'm doing now."
During the interview, also Dolly explained how she has no plans to retire unless she falls ill. "I'm probably not going to tour that much anymore," she admitted: "Because I've done that for years. I will always be in concert, doing something, maybe a long weekend, or special shows of some sort. I've got to promote this rock album!
"I'll never retire, not unless I got sick or something, or my husband really needed me, that would be the only reason I'd let up."
As well as teasing a collaboration with Elton John, Dolly also said she'd be up for working with Taylor Swift if the 'time was right'.
