Dolly Parton turned 78-years-old today (19th January 2024) and she has surprised fans by releasing some new music, designed 'to go with the 'Rockstar' album'.

The singer took to social media on her birthday to reveal the exciting news, telling her fans: 'Hey fans and friends,

'It's my Birthday so I'm going to give you a present! I'm releasing four never released songs for my birthday, to go with the Rockstar album, and a few others that you may have heard before that were not on the album. I hope you enjoy them, and I hope you all have a happy birthday for me! LOL

'Thanks for everything.'

Fans have been left very excited at the news of more music from the country legend, as one person replied: 'Happy Birthday Dolly, you beautiful lady and thanks for the gift of 4 extra songs. Have a great day!', and another said: 'I hope you have the most amazing birthday 💝🎀💝'.

The extra songs form a deluxe version of Dolly's first rock album, which was released last year. In total there are nine bonus tracks, including Dolly's versions of Pat Benatar’s 'Hit Me With Your Best Shot,' Eddie Money’s 'Two Tickets to Paradise', a new version of her iconic hit 'Jolene" with Måneskin, as well as covers of Simon & Garfunkel’s 'Bridge Over Troubled Water', Billy Joel’s 'The Entertainer' and the Eurythmics’ 'Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)'.

Other songs include 'Rockin' It', 'Mama Never Said' and 'Stay Out of My Bedroom'.
