Nashville, the home of country music, has been rocked by a tornado which swept across central Tennessee in the early hours of Tuesday (3rd March). Current reports are that at least nine people have passed away following the tornado, with 50,000 households left without power.
With something like this happening so close to home for many country music singers and fans alike, many have taken to social media to share their thoughts, offer help and thank others for their messages of support.
'Homecoming Queen' singer Kelsea Ballerini took to Twitter to ask her fans and the people of Nashville how she can help, saying, 'Oh nashville. 💔 very sad morning. how do we start to help? point me in the right direction and let’s start helping and healing.' (sic)
Meanwhile Cassadee Pope and Chip Esten both tweeted to let their fans know they were OK despite the 'crazy tornado', with The Voice winner saying, 'The dogs, our home and I are safe. Thank you to everyone who reached out.'
Chip, who played the role of Deacon Claybourne in the TV series Nashville from 2012 to 2018, echoed Cassadee saying, 'My family and I are safe and sound, but this morning reveals terrible damage to this beautiful city.'
Jake Owen told his fans they would 'stand together and help anyone and everyone in need', whilst Dan + Shay just tweeted, 'east nashville 💔'. (sic) See some other messages shared by county music stars below.
