What a year it's been! Not only was the ACM Awards postponed by six months, due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, it's also taken place in the home of country music, Nashville for the first time.
Taking place across three iconic venues in the city, the Grand Ole Opry House, the Ryman Auditorium, and the Bluebird Cafe, the live streamed event was hosted by Keith Urban, with a world premiere performance of 'Betty' by Taylor Swift.
Now, Carrie Underwood and Thomas Rhett have made history by becoming the first artists to jointly win the highly coveted ACM Entertainer of the Year Award.
As Keith Urban announced the winners he said he had never heard of there being two winners to that category, with Thomas replying, "Oh my goodness gracious. Keith, what is happening right now?"
Carrie also exclaimed, "2020, man!", continuing, "And thank you to the ACMs, not just for this, but for putting me in such incredible company. I am more than happy to share this with Thomas Rhett and just to have my name mentioned with his and Luke and Luke and Eric Church. I am beyond honoured."
Congratulations to all of the winners!
