Carrie Underwood breaks a country music record at the American Music Awards
She won two awards this year

It was a night of glitz and glamour at the annual American Music Awards (AMAs), held in the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Pop star Ciara hosted the show, kicking the night off with her new single, 'Melanin' and there were some fantastic performances from many of the nominees.
Going into the night, Carrie Underwood had 13 AMAs under her belt, with six for Favourite Female Artist - Country (2007, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018). Now, after picking up another two awards at the show, Carrie has broken the record for most wins ever in the Favourite Country Album category. This latest win puts her ahead of legend Kenny Rogers, who she was previously tied with.
Carrie won the Favourite Female Artist – Country, where she was up against Kelsea Ballerini and Maren Morris and her song 'Cry Pretty' won Favourite Song - Country. Other big winners on the night were, Dan + Shay who won awards for Favourite Duo or Group – Country, and their song 'Speechless' won Favourite Song – Country.
