The CMA award-winning and multi-platinum artist is set to return to the Country To Country stage for the first time since 2014. The country artist has 27 singles on the Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts, with 18 reaching No.1. Bentley’s real name is Frederick Dierks Bentley.
He uses his middle name, Dierks, as his stage name which is also his maternal great-grandmother’s surname.
Early Career
Bentley worked at Paramount Network, researching old footage of country performances. During this time the artist was banned from the Grand Ole Opry for trespassing the grounds for research purposes. The ban was lifted when Bentley’s first self-titled album was released.
The albums first single, ‘What Was I Thinkin’, reached No.1 on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs charts and was certified Platinum by the RIAA.
The second album, Modern Day Drifter, was released in 2005, making two No.1 singles ‘Come a Little Closer’ ‘Settle for a Slowdown’ and the No.3 hit ‘Lot of Leavin’ Left to Do’.
Ongoing Success
Bentley released his third album, Long Trip Alone in 2006 which produced another two No.1 hits in ‘Every Mile a Memory’ and ‘Free and Easy’.
In 2008 the artist released a Greatest Hits/Every Mile a Memory 2003-2008, allowing his fans to be the executive producers on the album.
The following years saw the release of albums Feel That Fire, Up on the Ridge, Home and Black from 2009-2016. The success of the albums is shown through multitude of hits including ‘I Wanna Make You Close Your Eyes’, ’Am I the Only One’, ‘Home’, ‘Say You Do’ and ‘The Driver’.
Bentleys latest album Gravel & Gold was released in 2022 with his lead single ‘Gold’.
Awards and Accolades
Bentley has received 12 GRAMMY award nominations between 2007-2017.
He has received 27 Country Music Association Award nominations, winning 3 awards: 2005 CMA Horizon Award, 2014 Music Video of the Year with ‘Drink on a Plane’ and the 2018 Musical Event of the Year with ‘Different for Girls’ featuring Elle King.
