Unless you’ve been living under a rock lately, you know the song “Wilder Days”. But who is the voice behind it?

Morgan Wade joined Elaina D. Smith for the very first time on The Nashville Show. Elaina’s been getting a lot of requests for the song and wants to know how Morgan feels about the buzz surrounding “Wilder Days”.

“I’ve worked really hard. It’s nice to be able to sit back and see so many people enjoying this.” Morgan told Elaina. Fans are screaming the lyrics back to her at shows already.

“We play that song last. They sing every word. That's such an amazing feeling, to have something so personal that I wrote to have that many people connect with it and love it so much. The other night there was this girl and she was like oh my gosh this song’s on the radio, as loud as she could, like i know this one!.”

The first time Elaina watched the video for “Wilder Days”, she thought Morgan must really know the pain described in the song. Is it a personal story or is it someone she knows?

“It’s kind of a blend. Dealing with past relationships where it’s been like if I had met you a little sooner, this would have really worked out, we would have been on the same page but sadly we’re living in two different worlds right now and it’s not going to work out right now and I wish it could. Let’s have this moment but it’s not going to go anywhere. Not a love song, but not not a love song.”

Morgan Wade may be blowing up in 2022, but she’s been around the music business for a while. Although, she didn’t start taking it seriously until she was nineteen. “I started the safest way possible as a nineteen year old female by responding to an ad on Craig’s List.” Morgan laughed, recalling the memory.

“I took two friends who were in my freshman college class and we went to this strange house in southeast Roanoke, Virginia down in this guy’s basement. Everybody was great and I look back, I have younger siblings and I would kill them. I realised that’s what I'm supposed to do and I've been doing it ever since.”

As Morgan’s star is on the rise, it’s nice to know she has someone on the journey with her: her dog Sony. “He’s a little ball of energy and I do miss him. I Facetimed him the other day, Frenchies have this little cry-like thing they do, kinda broke my heart.”

“I put out this record and I look pretty tough on it. If I gave away the voice when I talk to my dog, they might be really confused. I get pretty cheesy. I took him to Target and let him pick out his own toy. I’m that level of extra over this dog. He’s like a human.”

Catch Morgan Wade at C2C Festival on the 11th March at the O2 Arena in London. She will be performing as part of the Introducing Nashville slot alongside Tiera Kennedy and Priscilla Block on the main stage.

Her album Reckless is out now.
