There's no denying the fact that streaming service Netflix is the gift that keeps on giving when it comes to thrillers. With shows such as The Night Agent, The Watcher, Mindhunter and Stay Close being popular in recent years, the latest thriller taking Netflix by storm is Who Is Erin Carter?

What is Who is Erin Carter?
Who is Erin Carter? is a seven-part limited thriller series which is currently topping the trending chart on Netflix.
The new series, which landed on the streaming platform at the end of August, follows British substitute teacher Erin Carter, who lives in Barcelona with her Spanish husband Jordi and her young daughter, Harper.
Whilst Erin has been able to build herself a new life in Santa Alma, things quickly take a turn when she gets caught up in a robbery alongside her daughter at a local supermarket, where one of the robbers claims to recognise her.
As her life beings to unravel, Erin is forced to battle to clear her name and protect her family, but is she really who she claims to be?
The nail-biting series was written by Jack Lothian for Left Bank Pictures, the same producers as hit show The Crown.
Who is Erin Carter?
Erin Carter is the name of the lead character in Netflix thriller series Who is Erin Carter? The role is played by Swedish actress Evin Ahmad.
33-year-old Evin has appeared in a number of shows throughout her career, such as The Rain, Tsunami and Snabba Cash.
Speaking about her mysterious character, Evin said of Erin: "When I first came on board for this project I myself was wondering that. Who is Erin? How should we develop her and how shall I play her? I have never actually seen a woman like this in a show before.
"When you see female action characters, it’s mostly in a sci-fi context, but Erin is a seemingly normal woman who knows how to fight really well. She obviously has a past which she tries to hide, but I think she’s ultimately a person who wants to do right. She really loves her family and her new life, and at the same time, she has something dark within her. She isn’t the person who always follows the rules.
"She can get a huge kick out of doing some illegal things and sometimes her just being a substitute teacher gets a bit boring. It made me think ‘do you always have to be just the wife or just the teacher or just the mother or just a criminal?’ You can be everything all at once. There are multiple sides to Erin which I really enjoyed playing."
Who is in the cast?
As well as Evin playing the lead role of Erin Carter, the cast is also made up of child actor Indica Watson, who plays Erin's daughter Harper, and Sean Teale, who plays the role of Erin's husband Jordi.

Where was the series filmed?
Although the opening scenes in episode one were shot in Folkestone, Kent, in England, the majority of the series is in fact filmed on location in Barcelona, Spain.
