Produced by CPL Productions, Stranded on Honeymoon Island is a dating show which aired on BBC One in 2025. The 12-part series sees 12 unlucky-in-love singles matched into couples, who then marry and immediately start their honeymoon on a tropical island.

The BBC say of the show: 'Davina will meet the singles at their first speed dating event in London, before they are matched into six couples and then stranded on a tropical island for the experience of a lifetime. Isolated and pitted against the forces of nature, will true love blossom and survive…or dive?

'On these remote beaches, fledgling relationships are soon put to the test as the couples live out their honeymoon together and fend for themselves with few resources. Together they must communicate and collaborate to get by, with nowhere to run when the going gets tough. Will an escape from modern life bring them closer together or push them apart? Will it lead to love or loathing?'

🚨 WARNING: THE BELOW INFORMATION CONTAINS SOME MAJOR SPOILERS🚨

Who coupled up?

Following a speed dating event in London, six couples were matched together and got married in the Philippines, before being dumped on separate stranded Islands to live with one another for three weeks.

During episode five, one more couple got married and were dumped on a stranded Island.

The couples included:

Hannah and Sam

Mae and Moray

Abby and Helen

Ini and David

Taniae and Oliver

Millie and Jordan T

Georgina and Matt

Who left the show?

Episode four: Millie and Jordan

During the fourth episode, a flare was delivered to each couple and they were given the option to stay on their honeymoon or 'flare out'. Whilst four couples immediately chose to stay, both Millie and Jordan, and Mae and Moray were considering leaving the show.

Mae and Moray chose to stay, but Millie made the decision to flare out, leaving Jordan gutted.

Episode nine: Taniae

Following the arrival of some cast members who took part in the speed dating stage of the show, including Sam's ex Megan, the honeymooners were given the chance to explore their other connections.

Both Ollie and Moray chose to spend time with Megan, and whilst they both enjoyed their time, it was Ollie who was keen to get to know her more. Before finding out his decision, Ollie's wife Taniae decided the time was right to flare out from the island, leaving Ollie single.

Ollie went on to continue his journey on the show with Megan.

Episode 10: Mae and Moray

Despite giving it his best shot, Moray failed to find a romantic spark with Mae on the honeymoon, and following a visit from his mum, he chose to end things.

Mutually agreeing the pair were better off as friends, Mae and Moray left the island to continue their friendship back in the UK, wishing each other well for future relationships.

Which couples stayed together?

At the end of episode 11, all of the couples left their beaches and travelled to a retreat, where the boys and girls were split up for a few days to reflect on their time on the show.

During the 12th episode of the series, host Davina McCall welcomed the remaining couples to the final flare out, where they were given a chance to 'commit' or 'quit'.

Check out their decisions below:

Hannah and Sam - STILL TOGETHER

Final flare out decision:
Hannah and Sam were having a great time together until the arrival of Sam's ex Megan, which causes a lot of tension between the two. However, during the final flare out, both Hannah and Sam chose to commit! Admitting he needed the time apart to realise his true feelings, Sam revealed he's confident Hannah is 'his person' and has his back.

Are they still together?
Yes! During the reunion show, Hannah and Sam confirmed they are still dating. Sharing a cute post on Instagram, Sam wrote: 'We've only gone and done it. ❤️ 6 months on from @strandedonhoneymoonisland… and I'm finally allowed to announce that I have met the love of my life. If I'm honest, whilst I was hopeful, I don't know if I really believed it was possible to find love on a TV show. I'm a big believer in putting yourself out there, to let fate do its thing, no matter how unhinged it might seem. Hannah and I have had our fair share of challenges, some big, some small, some ex shaped 🙄. What's allowed us to get through them all, is our ability to make each other feel heard and approach life as team. Whether we agree or not, we have enough respect to see each other's point of view. I'm so bloody grateful to have her in my life. We have so much to share with you guys, and so many exciting plans for the future. 🥰 Right place. Right time'. (sic)

Abby and Helen - SPLIT

Final flare out decision:
Despite a slow start between the two, Abby and Helen's relationship grew stronger as time went on, and they both chose to commit during the final ceremony, much to the delight of their co-stars.

Are they still together?
During the reunion show, Helen appeared to reveal the pair had now split. Helen admitted although the pair gave it a really good go, they just didn't fit into each other's worlds.

Georgina and Matt - SPLIT

Final flare out decision:
Despite worrying about how their relationship would work back in the UK, due to the distance between the pair, both Georgina and Matt chose to commit to each other, sealing things with a steamy kiss, and a hug from Davina!

Are they still together?
Despite leaving the show together, things didn't work in the real world for Georgina and Matt!

Ini and David

Final flare out decision:
Following a crazy journey with both highs and lows on the show, Ini's heart was left broken during the final flare out when David chose to quit, whilst she wanted to commit. David was left speechless in the moment, as Ini told him she wasn't ready to shut him out of her life forever.

Megan and Ollie

Final flare out decision:
Both Megan and Ollie agreed the romantic connection wasn't there between them after all, with both choosing to quit at the final ceremony. Despite this, the pair were optimistic about their future love lives.

Do they get married for real?

No, the weddings aren't legally binding on the show.

Who hosted the show?

TV hosting legend Davina McCall presents the series, although she isn't on screen much!

Davina says: "I am a serial matchmaker…. So I jumped at the chance to host the BBC's new dating show. I can't wait to meet our couples and find out how they get on when they're Stranded on Honeymoon Island. For some it will be challenging and others, idyllic!!! Hopefully it's the start of some very beautiful relationships."

Speaking about her role on the show, Davina added: "I’m there at the speed dating to welcome them to the experience and to get them all geared up and tell them all what’s going to happen. As it’s called Stranded on Honeymoon Island, they do need to be and feel stranded so I can’t keep popping up every week.

"I’m there in the last couple of shows to support the couples, they’ve been on quite a journey so I wanted to go in and have a chat with them. I feel like they needed to see Mummy, I’m like the mother of the show and they needed a bit of motherly love. It was a tough journey for all of the cast, so I felt it was important for me to be there at the beginning and the end."

Can I apply for the show?

Unfortunately, applications closed on Friday 28th February 2025.

The application page stated: 'Are you single, unlucky in love, and ready to find your perfect match in paradise?

'The series will see twelve unlucky-in-love singles get matched up and married, before being marooned on a tropical island, to see if true love will blossom and survive…or dive?' (sic)
