Last updated 26th May 2022
Thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic, the past two series of hit ITV show I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here have taken place at Gwrych Castle in North Wales, after travel restrictions stopped production in Australia.
However, now that a lot of restrictions have been lifted across the world, the 2022 series of the popular show is set to return Down Under!
The news was finally confirmed by Ant and Dec on 26th May, after some speculation and a lot of fans hoping the show would return to Australia. Speaking on This Morning, Dec said: "As long as they let us in the country, we'll be back in.
"We had two lovely years in Wales, we really enjoyed our time in Wales, but this show has to be in Australia. We have to go back."
Rosemary Newell, Director of Content at ITV, had also previously said: "We expect a celebrity to return in Australia in November, when it will generate audience over 11 million."
There had been speculation about where the next series of I'm A Celebrity ...Get Me Out of Here! would be based as Ant and Dec appeared on The One Show and hinted that the show may not be returning to North Wales.
Ant said: "Well the plan is the jungle." Dec then commented: "Nothing against Wales," with Ant adding: "We love Wales. But you know, Australia is I'm A Celeb's home and we'd like to get back there - and we can!"
