Hollyoaks spoilers: Monday 19 – Friday 23 August 2019

The week begins with Joel and Goldie continuing on with their relationship. Goldie heads to work and leaves a half-naked sleeping Joel in her room.

Breda arrives whilst Joel is still sleeping – will she catch him at Goldie's? Or will he manage to escape without being seen?

During Goldie's walk to work she's horrified when she spots Jack fishing in the folly and he ends up discovering a dead body.

Breda begins to panic when Jack reveals the police will be able to catch the killer by extracting finger prints from the body. Lisa, Martine and Walter Deveraux all arrive at The Dog and watch the drama unfold.

Despite all the drama happening Breda still manages to be unimpressed with Darren being a 'dead beat' dad. She begs God to give her a sign on whether she should continue her mission especially following the recent body being found in the village.

Jack gathers everyone at The Dog to try and help discover who the serial killer is. Despite being the guilty culprit, Breda decides to say a few words and tells the rest of the village to be brave and protect the men in town.

Later on Breda tells Mandy Richardson that Darren is a terrible dad. How will she react?

Elsewhere for the McQueen family, Liam buys Bobby an ice cream. Sylver spends the day cheering the little one up but when Mercedes arrives home her son lashes out at her.

He tells her she doesn't care about their family. Mercedes tries to spend more time with Bobby while Sylver offers to be Grace Black's personal trainer.

Liam opens up to Courtney Campbell and reveals he's in love (she's none the wiser that he's talking about Mercedes) and Court convinces him to show the girl how much he wants her.

He decides to invite Mercedes over to The Loft and shows her a rack full of clothes and tells her to pick whatever she likes.

Sylver is worried about Bobby because he wet the bed and when Misbah Maalik overhears she offers to talk to the little one.

During their conversation, Misbah tries to get to the bottom of what's wrong with Bobby. He confesses that he thinks Mercedes is going to leave him again.

Mercedes overhears Bobby's conversation and is left heartbroken. Sylver comforts her.

Maxine and Damon return from their honeymoon but Sienna is eager to get her friend to tell her husband the truth. However Maxine decides to tell Damon that the tumor has grown.

Damon breaks down in tears at the news and decides that he wants his wife to feel as special as possible so suggests throwing a living funeral for her.

Damon opens up to Grace and Nancy Osborne and reveals that Maxine's tumour has grown. He decides to transfer the money from Maxine's crowd funding page so they can pay for the living funeral.

Maxine later opens up and breaks down. She finally admits she can't stop lying – she's addicted to it.

However her mood soon changes and the next day, Maxine is ecstatic about her living funeral – much to Sienna's anger.

As Maxine's living funeral kicks off to a great start she seems to be living her best life – sitting on a throne while Liberty Savage sings a song for her and Grace, Nancy and Darren give speeches.

Sienna decides that enough is enough and tells Maxine that she should use her 'funeral' as the perfect opportunity to reveal that she's really been suffering from Munchausen syndrome.

Diane Hutchison keeps getting calls from an unknown phone and it's later revealed that Finn O'Connor is on the other end – he's getting released from prison.
