Corrie legend tipped for 2024 series of I'm A Celeb
He was due to appear last year!
He's been rumoured for a number of years, with fans certain he was entering the jungle last year, but after a nasty injury put a stop to his plans, it seems 2024 could be the year for Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall to take part in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!
Alan, who has played the iconic role of Tyrone Dobbs since 1998, was reportedly due to feature alongside the likes of Sam Thompson, Josie Gibson and Nigel Farage, but after sustaining an ACL injury to his knee in November, he was forced to undergo ACL Reconstruction surgery, with a recovery phase of 9-12 months.
Sharing the news at the time, Alan said in a post on social media: 'ACL reconstruction surgery ✔️
'🥺 Well, On Friday I underwent ACL reconstruction surgery. I have been told the surgery went really well 🙏. I know I have a long 9-12 months of rehabilitation ahead of me but I’m sure with the support of family & friends I’ll get there 👊'. (sic)
Now, despite the line-up still being months away from being confirmed, rumours are rife that bosses are keen to get 41-year-old Alan on the show, after both Alan and the show's producers were left 'gutted' last year.
Despite the rumours, ITV/STV are yet to confirm this year's line-up, but other names in the rumour mill include Suella Braverman, Cheryl Fergison, Danny Dyer and Richard Arnold.
