What is Olly Murs new song called?
Olly's new song is called 'Christmas Starts Tonight’, however it didn't start out like that. The song is a rework of his single 'Run This Town', which was released in October 2025.
Speaking about the song, Olly said: "'Christmas Starts Tonight’ has had the maddest journey… It began as a demo of ‘Run This Town’ that never quite found its moment. Fast forward to 2025 and it ends up on my new album, I perform it on Strictly, and suddenly I’m hearing it as a Christmas song.
"So I sent Sam (Preston) a message and somehow we’ve turned it into a full-on festive anthem and properly reconnected in the process. It feels fresh, it feels fun, and honestly… I couldn’t be more excited to now have a fully fledged Christmas tune out with The Ordinary Boys."
Who has Olly collaborated with on his new song?
Olly has collaborated with The Ordinary Boys on his latest song. He and Sam Preston from band have a long working relationship. Speaking about the new track, Sam said: "One of the first songs I wrote after The Ordinary Boys was ‘Heart Skips A Beat'. It somehow went on to become a colossal Number 1 for Olly who, to my amazement, turned out not only to be a gifted singer, performer and songwriter, but also an admirer of The Ordinary Boys.
"We’ve had great fun recording together over the years, and ‘Christmas Starts Tonight’ is no exception. Born from the bones of ‘Run This Town’, a tune that had been languishing in a dusty folder on Olly’s phone for 15 years, it has finally been granted a new life as a Yuletide anthem. A small seasonal miracle, really."
Is there a music video?
Olly has not yet released a music video for his Christmas song.
When was it released?
The song was released on 1st December 2025.
