Stacey Solomon shares a no make-up selfie with an inspirational message

Stacey Solomon has shared a no make-up selfie on Instagram accompanied by a very inspirational message for her fans. The photo posted today is a close-up of the TV presenter's face accompanied by a very long caption.

In her caption Stacey says, 'The no make up selfie No one is showing you!! I clearly have lash extensions on, I’m not actual Bambi. But I have no make up on at all and am not in front of a light so bright it’s practically foundation!' sic

She continues by saying she feels beautiful despite having 'spots and scars'.

'In this picture I feel beautiful and the spots and scars don’t and WILL NOT take that away form me. You don’t have to be blemish free to be beautiful. And anyone worried about going natural because of there skin, DON’T! OWN IT! It IS pretty and more importantly it’s you! Just because someone says spots look bad doesn’t mean they’re right!' sic

Stacey's inspirational message has been greeted by a number of kind messages from fans. One fan said, 'Love this and love you 🙌🙌 I also struggle with the same problem 😘 your such an inspiration keeping it real!', with another commenting, 'I suffer from spots and this post makes me feel better about it. Thank you ☺️.'

Earlier this year Stacey hit out at publications who altered photos of her. Taking to Instagram she shared two photos before and after she was airbrushed. She accompanied her photo with a caption that read, 'This is how scary airbrushing can be... just remember when you’re looking at someone’s post or in a mag or poster you might not be looking at real life images!'

Stacey rose to fame back in 2009 after she took part in The X Factor and finished in third place in the year Joe McElderry won. Since The X Factor she has gone on to take part in a number of TV shows, including winning I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2010.

In 2016 she appeared on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! Extra Camp alongside her boyfriend Joe Swash, who has been presenting the show since he won it in 2008.

Stacey and Joe have been dating since 2015 and earlier this year the singer revealed that if the couple got married she wouldn't be changing her surname. The mum-of-two made the admission on Loose Women in a discussion about a rising trend in men taking their wife's name instead of the other way around.

Discussing her own surname, she said, "I think it’s a great name to take. I think he’d be lucky to be part of the Solomon brand!"

She even revealed that she would never take his surname, adding, "I love my name so much - I wouldn’t want to take his!"

But when Nadia suggested she took a double barrelled surname and become Stacey Swash-Solomon, Stacey burst out, "That's awful!"

She added, "I always want to be Stacey Solomon and it makes me proud because I love my family."

Well, you can't argue with that!

But Stacey also has another, more practical reason behind not changing her name - her two sons from previous relationships.
