Rylan Clark-Neal reveals the REAL reason he left This Morning
He's set the record straight
Last updated 1st Feb 2018
TV presenter Rylan Clark-Neal announced he was taking a break from his showbiz reporter role on This Morning last year, subsequently receiving a number of harsh comments.
Rylan, who also presents Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side, was the victim of some harsh online abuse for wanting some time off work.
Back in December, Rylan announced he was leaving the ITV daytime show when he told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, "I've not really said anything but after Christmas, next Friday, I'm going to be going away for a little bit.
"It's definitely not goodbye but I'm going to be taking a little bit of a break for a little bit in the new year. But I just want to say thank you because it's been lovely and I will be back. I will be back."
After a number of news outlets had reported Rylan decided to leave This Morning for false reasons, the 29-year-old has chosen to set the record straight.
Revealing he isn't terminally ill, having a baby or getting a divorce, Rylan admitted he needed to leave the show to give his head, body and peace of mind a rest.
He also went on to reveal that because he is self employed, he isn't entitled to any holiday leave, which he believes is a "big risk" for an individual who works within the television industry.
At the time of his exit, Rylan denied rumours he'd been sacked. Taking to Twitter the presenter wrote, 'Rumours in press why I’m ‘leaving’ or been ‘axed’ from @thismorning . Truth is I need a break. I’ve been working constantly for 5 years and I need some time to myself.
'I will still be at Big Bro. I just need to take some time to myself. That’s all. I’ll be back soon xxx' sic
After receiving backlash, Rylan chose to delete the tweet and replaced it by saying, 'WHEN YOU PIT A NICE LITTLE TWEET UP AND PEOPLE PIPE UP..... I’ll just keep it simple....... I’ve not been sacked from @thismorning just having some time off that’s all. Night' sic
Although he doesn't appear on This Morning at the moment, Rylan has had an incredibly successful career since he appeared on The X Factor back in 2012.
Despite not winning everybody over with his singing ability, Rylan's fun and upbeat personality landed him a number of jobs in TV.
