Robbie Williams reveals details of his health scare which left him in intensive care for a week

Earlier this year Robbie Williams made the shock announcement that he would be cancelling some of his 'The Heavy Entertainment Show Tour'. At the time the reason given was an 'illness', however the severity of that illness wasn't revealed until later on.

In October the 'Candy' singer revealed more details in a video uploaded to YouTube, in it he said he had been "recovering from an illness for the last five weeks" and this illness meant that he couldn't continue with his tour.

Now, he has revealed even more information about his illness, in an interview with a national newspaper. He told the newspaper, "My left arm went numb and I couldn’t stop dribbling out of the side of my mouth.

"I had a headache and I was also having trouble breathing. I couldn’t get a full breath."

A doctor was called and he had some blood tests and scans which is when he found out there was a problem. Robbie continued, "there were some abnormalities found, including something on my brain that looked like blood.

"That was obviously very scary, so the decision was taken out of my hands and I was sent straight to the intensive care unit.”

Robbie went on to explain how he felt "confused and scared", his wife Ayda and his children were in the US, so they weren't able to visit him, but said he knew he was in the right place, "I felt like I knew I was going to be OK," he said.

Robbie spent seven days in intensive care before he was allowed to leave. The 43-year-old then had another scan before being given the all clear to fly to America.

Thankfully Robbie seems to be much better now, although this scare has resulted in a change in lifestyle. He is now mostly vegan and does pilates and yoga every day, however he still has a "really big burger on a Sunday"!

Robbie released his 11th studio album 'The Heavy Entertainment Show' in 2016 from which he released four songs including 'Love My Life' and 'Mixed Signals'.

Then earlier this year he announced he would be releasing a brand new album called 'Under The Radar Volume 2'. This album is a follow-up to his 2014 album 'Under the Radar Volume 1' which featured b-sides and demos which had never been heard before.

'Under The Radar Volume 2' out now and 'The Heavy Entertainment Show Tour' will now resume on the 14th February 2018 in New Zealand.

Earlier this week Robbie disappointed fans when it was revealed that Take That wouldn't be having a reunion for at least five years. However, Robbie has appeared on the TV show Lorraine to put things straight.

He told Lorraine, "I did an interview the other day and it's been picked up in the news. I said, 'Oh yeah we're not going to get together, it's definitely not happening in the next five years.'

"But then I remembered, 'Oh actually, we had a meeting about something but I can't say what about.' So the reunion might be sooner than that..."
