Are JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes dating?

The 2025 series of Celebrity Big Brother ended on Friday 25th April, with Corrie legend Jack P. Shepherd being crowned the winner, but it's safe to say the biggest talking point from the second series was the relationship between JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes.

The pair struck up a budding friendship in the house, with American singer and dancer JoJo admitting she realised she's 'not a lesbian' during her stint on the show. After both JoJo and Chris made it to the final, things then took another turn during the CBB wrap party, when JoJo 'dumped' her partner Kath Ebbs, leading Kath to share the news publicly on Instagram.

Although JoJo didn't publicly address the split online, she did enjoy a meal out with Chris and his friends on Sunday night (27th April), with the pair later going on to break their silence about their relationship during an interview on This Morning. Now in June, things have taken another twist...

Are Chris and JoJo together?

Despite saying they were just friends on This Morning back in April, JoJo and Chris got tongues wagging again, as Chris flew over to America to be with JoJo for her 22nd birthday on 19th May.

As well as being spotted holding hands at Disneyland, Chris posted a number of cosy photos alongside JoJo to Instagram, writing: 'The previous 7 days have been the prettiest.. 😊💫🎂'. JoJo was quick to comment on the post, adding: '& happiest:). Heart is overflowing 🤍'. (sic)

The photos showed Chris and JoJo relaxing together and enjoying a number of hugs, leading to fans wondering if their relationship has materialised.

One fan wrote: 'this has to be a hard launch', with another adding: 'Okay, sooooo now what??? 😍😍😍😍'. A third commented: 'Hello Chris me and @amandaa2xo need to know if this was a hard launch or are you still just friends x all my love'. (sic)

Someone else added: 'Didn’t think I could be this happy for two people I never met but yet here I am crying happy tears for both of you! Just know you have so much support now and always ❤️❤️❤️ @itsjojosiwa @chrishughesofficial'. (sic)

One day later, JoJo posted a montage video to TikTok, alongside the caption: '🥺…I was gonna make a slide post of my favorite photos and videos from this last week, but TikTok made an auto edit and used the LIVE version of the photos… my heart is smiling so big with tears in my eyes🥺🤍 this birthday week is one that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I can’t quite put it into words… the best I can say is it’s been the most magical week of my life, truly the way it feels🪄🤍 I got to spend chill time with my favorite people, and also be on stage doing my favorite thing for a beautiful crowd of siwanatorz in Mexico. Wouldn’t trade 1 second of this birthday week for anything🤍 I feel so happy and grateful for the universe and the way it works 🤍🥺'. (sic)

Then on Thursday 22nd May, pics began to appear online which are alleged to show the pair kissing in a pool in Mexico.

Days later on Monday 26th May, JoJo spoke about their relationship once again, during another appearance on ITV Daytime show This Morning. Speaking to hosts Alison Hammond and Paddy McGuinness, JoJo confessed Chris is one of her favourite people in the world.

Chris was live from Barby Keel Animal Sanctuary throughout the show, and was surprised by JoJo who had entered the This Morning studio to say hello to him.

Alison said to JoJo: “We love this, honestly I’m so invested in you and Chris… I’m loving this little relationship, I think it’s beautiful. But just for the record, what is your relationship status with Chris?”

JoJo replied: “I will say he is up there as one of my favourite people in the entire world, he makes me happier than I think I have ever been. He makes me feel so full as me, he’s a really good one that has been the most incredible addition to my life -”

The pair then confessed JoJo will be visiting the Cotswolds to spend time with Chris and his family next week, with Chris saying “This takes me back to the Cotswolds which you’re going to come to with me next week to see the family.”

In June 2025, JoJo then seemed to confirm she's in a relationship with Chris, telling The Guardian: "It's not platonic any more, and it's been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I'm absolutely head over heels for him and he's the same way."

Speaking on Sunday Brunch, JoJo then said: "Him and my Dad are like best friends, Chris was actually telling me this yesterday, they went to the spa together yesterday.

"They're literally best friends, Mom Siwa she absolutely adores him. I love watching her watch us, because I've never seen my mom so happy, and it's... it's... I could cry. Honestly, it makes me happy to have everybody act as... it feels like we're a family, it feels like he's been in my family for how ever many years it feels like forever.

"He gets along as well as I do. I think he loves me because of my parents!"

What have they said about their relationship on Big Brother?

Appearing together on This Morning on Monday 28th April, JoJo and Chris spoke about their friendship and their time in the Celebrity Big Brother house together. Hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard asked the questions that viewers were been crying out for, with JoJo giving her side of the story on why she ended things with her partner.

She said: "Honestly when I went into the house, Day One fun, Day Two fun, but then honestly Day Three, I was now in my own thoughts, away from everyone that I know, away from outside opinions, away from everything, and I sat with myself, and from that point on I really realised things that I was OK with in my life, that I should never have been OK with.

"I wanted to hold them inside because I didn't want to air it out very publicly, but there were countless things that I was like that's not something that I should be OK with, and I'm not happy. I knew as soon as I got out that I wanted to fix things in my life and make the changes that I wanted to make. You have this experience that is so exhilarating, it's 20 days but it feels like it's four and a half years, and the first thing you want to do when you get out is just exactly what you need to do in your life to make it as good as you can, and I realised just how not great things were and I was pretending that they were great. It's been hard, but it's been good, and I'm very happy at where I am now, I'm very grateful."

JoJo also went on to admit it was never her plan to end her relationship with Kath at the wrap party, revealing it wasn't meant to happen like that, but the conversation did end up happening there when Kath showed up and asked questions.

When asked about the current state of their relationship, Chris said: "It's hard to explain, it's just a really strong bond between two people. It's just a strong friendship. I think you can have a soulmate friendship, I think that's a thing. To me it's like not your standard friendship you'd have with your friends, but it's still a friendship, we are friends."

After making it clear their relationship is currently platonic, Ben asked JoJo if she'd ever like their relationship to be anything more.

She added: "Look, he's a great guy, it is platonic, we have a lot of fun together. Life is life and I don't know any future of anything, but I'm really grateful for the bond we have and whatever life does, life will do."

Jojo's ex partner Kath, who identifies as non-binary, first broke the news that the pair had split just one day after the CBB final.

In a TiKTok video, the Australian DJ said: "I'm filming this in a complete state of shock.

"After two weeks of sitting back watching certain things unfold and not being able to get any clarity from the person that it involves... I was dumped at the after-party.

"I was told that there are confused feelings there, do with that what you will, and that they had realised in the house that I wasn't the person that they wanted to spend the foreseeable future with.

"I flew across the world to support and be there and hold that person in whatever they would be experiencing, leaving such a wild experience.

"Instead, I was dumped at the afterparty, with Chris in the next room. Which is f---ing crazy to say out loud."

JoJo and Kath first started dating in December last year, but after having time to herself in the CBB house, the dancer opened up to fellow housemate Danny Beard, admitting she's realised she's not a lesbian.

Speaking to Danny, she said: "I feel so queer. I've never - I think I've always told myself, I'm a lesbian. I think you - I think being here - I've realised I am not a lesbian, I’m queer.

"And I think that's really cool, I'm switching letters! I've dropped the L and I've gone to the Q baby! That's what I love about sexuality."
