Everything to know about Emily In Paris season 5

When Emily In Paris first arrived on Netflix back in 2020 viewers had the chance to see Emily Cooper, a young marketing executive, arrive for a year in the French capital. After a rocky start, which saw her have an on-off relationship with her neighbour Gabriel and British guy Alfie, Emily's future in the city was uncertain.

However, with the show's success it was quickly renewed for a second season, and then for another three following that. Now, as we await it's SIXTH season, we take a look at what happened in series 5...

When was series 5 announced?

Just days after Season 4 Part 2 of the show arrived in September 2024 set in Italy, Lily Collins, who plays the lead character Emily, confirmed the exciting news that the show had been renewed for a fifth season.

Where and when was it filmed?

It was filmed throughout 2025 across Paris, Venice and Rome.

When was season five released?

All 10 episodes from season five landed at 8am on Thursday 18th December 2025.

What happens in season five?

The official synopsis reads: 'Now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city. But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks. Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle, until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships. Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity, and a readiness to embrace new possibilities'.

First look photos were released on 20th August, showing Emily cruising through Venice on a speedboat, taking selfies on a Vespa, but Darren Star was keen to keep her in Paris, saying: “Emily’s going to have a presence in Rome. It doesn’t mean she’s not going to be in Paris.”

Is there a trailer?

Yes! The full trailer was released on Wednesday 3rd December 2025, alongside the caption: 'Embrace the detour, home wasn't built in a day after all! Emily in Paris Season 5 premieres December 18. Only on Netflix'.

Who is in the cast of season five?

The usual faces returned for season five, including Lily Collins, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Lucien Laviscount and Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu. A few new faces also joined the cast, including Bryan Greenberg, Michèle Laroque, and Minnie Driver.
