The world of TV gameshows is hugely popular right now, with shows such as The Traitors, Big Brother and The 1% Club having the nation hooked. Last year, ITV/STV bosses launched a brand new series called The Fortune Hotel, with actor Stephen Mangan hosting the show.

Made up of eight episodes, the thrilling and high-octane show involved 10 pairs of contestants arriving at The Fortune Hotel, where they were given a briefcase. One briefcase was filled with £250,000 cash, and the pair in possession of that briefcase at the end of the series were crowned the winners.

Is The Fortune Hotel getting a second series?

Following the success of series one, in July 2024, it was announced The Fortune Hotel will be getting another series, with early applications opening up.

Director of Reality and Acquisitions at ITV, Paul Mortimer, said: “The Fortune Hotel proved to be genuine, talked about television, captivating the audience from start to finish with its ingenious format and numerous twists and turns. Highly acclaimed by viewers and the Press, we're thrilled to be bringing this wonderful show back for a second season."

Executive Producer, Steph Harris, added: “We're thrilled to be opening the doors of the Fortune Hotel again and can't wait to see who will be checking in to play a gripping game of subterfuge and are already planning lots of deliciously devious surprises to ensure our guests never get too comfortable during their stay.”

In February 2025, bosses started to tease the second series, with: social posts reading: '🐍During the Year of the Snake, mystery slithers around every corner of The Fortune Hotel… Ssssssseries 2. Coming soon to ITV 🐍#thefortunehotel'. (sic)

Is there a trailer?

Yes, series two has a trailer, which sees a bunch of holiday makers packing their bags and donning their game faces as they head to a Caribbean paradise with their sights firmly set on the ultimate prize: a briefcase packed with £250,000.

This series promises an array of all-new vital challenges, never before seen twists, high-stakes deception and of course, plenty more helpings of intense case-swapping drama in The Night Cap.

Who is in the cast?

There are 11 teams of two including:

  • Best friends: Marilyn (Maz) and Maxine (Max)
  • Best friends: Chelsey and Briony
  • Father and son: Atholl and John
  • Brothers: Jake and Mike
  • Couple: Allan and Jacob
  • Friends: Gurks and Guv
  • Dad and daughter: James and Yasmine
  • Couple: Nella and Tope
  • Mother and son: Sue and Jeremy
  • Life partners: Fred and Min

When is it on TV?

It's now been revealed the second series will begin on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th August 2025 at 9pm.

The series will air on Wednesdays and Thursdays each week throughout August.

Paul Mortimer, Director of Reality Commissioning & Acquisitions, ITV said: "The Fortune Hotel captivated audiences with its unique blend of strategy, suspense, and sunshine in its first outing, and we’re delighted to welcome it back to ITV1 and ITVX for a second, even more dramatic series. With Stephen Mangan at the helm of the main show and the wonderful Ellie Taylor guiding fans through the highs and lows on 'Late Check Out', viewers are in for a real treat this summer."
