After taking some time off from his showbiz reporter role on ITV daytime show This Morning, Rylan Clark-Neal has today announced he will be returning to the show next week, replacing Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
As it's the Easter holidays, usual hosts Holly and Phillip will be given the week off, with Rylan being brought back to present the main show. But Rylan won't be alone, the former X Factor star will be joined by Big Brother presenter Emma Willis for the week.
Taking to Twitter to announce the news, Rylan wrote, 'The news is out! Excited to tell you I’ll be hosting @thismorning all next week with the BBig sister @EmmaWillis . ❤️' sic
Rylan has hosted the main show in the past, but never with Emma. He's previously presented This Morning alongside Alison Hammond, Spice Girl Geri Horner and his husband Dan Neal.
After his absence from the popular show in recent months, fans of the show were delighted at his news.
After winning Celebrity Big Brother back in 2013, Rylan landed himself a presenting role on Big Brother's Bit On The Side and often works alongside Emma for the show.
The 29-year-old first announced he'd decided to take a break from This Morning at the end of 2017.
Speaking to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Rylan said, "I've not really said anything but after Christmas, next Friday, I'm going to be going away for a little bit. It's definitely not goodbye but I'm going to be taking a little bit of a break for a little bit in the new year. But I just want to say thank you because it's been lovely and I will be back. I will be back."
After a number of news outlets then reported Rylan decided to leave the show for false reasons, the 29-year-old chose to set the record straight. He wrote, 'Rumours in press why I’m ‘leaving’ or been ‘axed’ from @thismorning . Truth is I need a break. I’ve been working constantly for 5 years and I need some time to myself. 'I will still be at Big Bro. I just need to take some time to myself. That’s all. I’ll be back soon xxx' sic
As well as appearing on The X Factor and presenting Big Brother, Rylan also appeared on The Xtra Factor, and fronted his own shows Babushka and Up Late With Rylan.
