Speaking to Sam Thompson on his Hits UK show, Maisie recalled the incredible moment when she found out that 'The Good Witch' was Number 1, explaining that she instantly shared the good news with her housemates.

She said: "When I first found it out I was in Sweden, and I got a knock on my door and I open it and it's all my band and crew. My manager had flown in secretly and he hadn't told me and he had the Number 1 thing.

"I just FaceTimed loads of people, I FaceTimed my housemates and they were like, 'Oh my God this is so fun, this is the one thing for our house that we can't buy.'"

As her album became Number 1 in the UK, it was revealed that Maisie had become the youngest British female solo artist to have a Number 1 album in almost a decade at the age of 23. The record was also certified Silver by the BPI in July 2024, translating to 60,000 sales in the UK.

Latest album

Maisie released her third album, 'Florescence', on 22nd May 2026, featuring singles 'You You You', 'Audrey Hepburn', 'Say My Name In Your Sleep', 'My Regards' and 'Kingmaker'.

On its release, she wrote on Instagram: 'my third album, florescence is out now :’)))))) florescence means ‘to blossom/ to bloom’, and on the day of its release nothing has ever felt truer. i started this album at twenty three, lived it at twenty four, finished it at twenty five and now, a week shy of my twenty sixth birthday, i’m finally getting to give it to the people i made it for : you guys. this music really feels like a coming home to me - i was deeply inspired by the country music i grew up on, and the songs i wrote when i was 18, unafraid, and blissfully myself.

'i think that’s why this album sounds the most me of any so far, and also why it feels so easy and effortless; in making an album singing about going back to my hometown, retracing my steps backwards through the years, through the heartbreaks and the rains and the highs and the lows, i think i inadvertently walked all the way backwards to myself again, and made an album that i feel like my sixteen year old self teaching herself downtown by lady a on the guitar to go busk on any street corner she could find would have LOVED.

'i have to thank ian fitchuk, @konradsollsnyder for helping me produce this record into one that i couldn’t be prouder of, and all the songwriters, without of whom none of this music would have been possible. thank you nashville for being the magic behind it all, and thank you to all of you who have waited with baited breath for this exact day.

'i hope florescence is everything you wanted it to be and more, and i hope three records in i’m still making you proud. it is a wild, wild dream to get to do this as a job, and i never take for granted how special it is; thank you from the bottom of my heart for making it possible for me. here’s to florescence soundtracking the rest of our lives together, starting right this minute, now go listen and tell me your favourite songs immediately please ok i love you!!! :’)'

What are Maisie Peters' biggest songs?

'Lost The Breakup'

Released in March 2023, 'Lost The Breakup' features on Maisie's second album 'The Good Witch'. In the song, Maisie expresses the pain of going through a difficult breakup, but coming to the realisation that you have 'won' in the long run.

Speaking to us, Maisie explained that the song helped her to process a relationship ending. She explained: "I love that song because it comes from a place of sadness and heartbreak but it's also really joyous and really fun and now I love singing that song.

"It makes me smile every time because I'm like, 'I don't feel like that anymore.' So it was perfect for me back then, it's perfect for me now, if I get broken up with again it will be perfect for me then."

The song includes the lyrics: 'I'll smile and you'll have to face it / I'm the greatest love that you wasted / But, by then, I'll be far away / And, oh s---, you lost the breakup.'

'Body Better'

'Body Better' was released in January 2023 as the first single from 'The Good Witch', and Maisie has described the song as her most personal. The song is about processing a breakup whilst wondering if her ex-partner's new girlfriend has a better body, and the feelings of insecurity that comes with this.

In an essay she wrote for Glamour, Maisie revealed that she'd been inspired to write the song after comparing herself to her ex's new partner, having written her thoughts down on her phone.

She said: "There’s nothing like heartbreak to make you magnify yourself with the most poisonous of lenses - insecurities you’ve always had swell up tenfold in the darkness, and you find yourself desperately unpicking every thread of your being. What your body looks like in the dark, in the light; how it underperforms in all the ways you're taught really matter."

This can be seen in lyrics such as the chorus, which goes: 'Then I, I can't help thinking that she's got a better body / Has she got a body better than mine? / And I, I can't help thinking when you touched it, were you sorry? / Were you sorry like you weren't at the time?'

'Blonde'

Maisie released the song 'Blonde' in August 2022. A break-up anthem, the track is about gaining self-confidence and reinventing yourself following the end of a relationship - including changing your hair colour.

This can be seen in lyrics such as: 'Baby if you thought that I was trouble / Then you're gonna hate what's coming next / Kinda like your worst nightmare but double / Is that an angel? No, it's your ex.'

WARNING: Contains strong language.

'Cate's Brother'

'Cate's Brother' was released in May 2022 and reached Number 29 on the UK Singles Chart. Maisie initially shared clips of the track with fans on her TikTok page, before officially releasing it after getting such a good reaction from fans.

Maisie has explained that the song is about her friend Cate's brother, who she met at a party. However, she has since confirmed that the pair are not an item. Speaking to People, Maisie said: "Cate does have a brother, who is a sweet, sweet Canadian prince. No, we are not dating.

"The song was literally just a joke for me and my friendship group. I wrote it in Sweden and was like, 'Oh, this will be funny.' And then lo and behold, out it came."

The lyrics of the song detail the story of Maisie meeting Cate's brother and later dating him: 'Are you gonna work, you gonna hurt, you gonna last forever / Are we gonna make it, gonna break it, when it's now or never? / If it's gonna hurt, will it be worth it, and will I recover? / Are you gonna feel the way I feel? Are you for real, Cate's brother?'

'Psycho'

'Psycho' was released in July 2021 and was co-written by Ed Sheeran. The song is about Maisie reflecting on a former relationship and addressing an ex who is not over her. The track features on her debut album 'You Signed Up for This.'

The song includes the lyrics: 'You kept me as your favourite secret / And I thought we just took it slow / They say your girlfriend's from the beaches / It's funny how everybody but me knows.'
