In 2024, Jax Jones received a doctorate, announced a tour for 2024, and will be joining us at Hits Radio Live Manchester. He's also known for some of his massive hits like 'Instruction', with Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don, 'This Is Real' with Ella Henderson, 'You Don't Know Me' with RAYE, and 'Whistle' with Calum Scott!

Jax has also teased a collab with none other than Take That, and got Pitbull to provide some vocals for this song 'Tonight (D.I.Y.A)', but he's also behind so many other songs that you might not know he's worked on.

The 37-year-old Londoner, whose real name is Timucin Fabian Kwong Wah Aluo, has released banger after banger over the last five years, as well as being nominated for a MOBO Award, an Honourable Doctorate in Business, so let's take a look through some of them...

1) Duke Dumont - 'I Got U' featuring Jax Jones

Jax teamed up with Duke Dumont in 2014 to feature on the massive hit single ‘I Got U’. The song was an instant summer hit with fans, with the fast beat and catchy lyrics. The pair co-wrote and produced the track together.

2) 'Instruction' featuring Demi Lovato

Jax worked with former Disney queen Demi Lovato on the hit track ‘Instruction’ in 2017, with a little added feature from Stefflon Don. Co-written by the three of them, as well as fellow artist MNEK, the song appeared on Jax's EP 'Snacks' as well as on the deluxe edition of Demi's sixth album, 'Tell Me You Love Me'. The fast-paced single has turned into a classic with its Samba feel.

In December 2023, six years after the release of their song, Jax revealed details about the music video as he 'reacted' to it. Telling his fans that he flew to LA just for a day to shoot the video, Jax also revealed how he got a 'Hollywood horse' in just for Stefflon Don to sit on!

3) 'You Don’t Know Me' featuring RAYE

Perhaps one of his biggest tracks to date, ‘You Don’t Know Me’ always goes down brilliantly with audiences when performed live, and features a sample from 2005 song 'Body Language' by M.A.N.D.Y. vs. Booka Shade. Jax teamed up with English singer-songwriter RAYE for this 2016 hit, and it peaked at Number 3 in the UK Charts and Number 1 on the UK Dance Charts. The video is something special too...

Jax told fans in a video shared in February 2023, that it was the song that changed his life. In the video he shared a clip of the Day 1 demo with RAYE, before explaining that he had worked on the song for six months.

4) 'House Work' featuring Mike Dunn and MNEK

Released as one of his first singles in 2015, ‘House Work’ has a house vibe and a beat drop that will certainly get any crowd going! It appeared on Jax's EP 'Snacks' in 2016.

5) 'Breathe' featuring Ina Wroldsen

One of the biggest hits of 2018, Jax enlisted the help of Norwegian singer Ina Wroldsen on the dance track ‘Breathe’, who is best known for her appearance on 'Places' by Martin Solveig. It peaked at Number 7 in the UK charts and also appeared on his EP 'Snacks'. We still can’t get it out of our heads.

6) 'Ring Ring' featuring Mabel

Jax released the incredibly popular 'Ring Ring' starring singer Mabel, with Rich The Kid, in 2018. The earworm peaked at Number 12 in the UK and was certified Gold!

7) 'Play' featuring Years & Years

Our Jax loves a featured artist! He teamed up with the beloved Years & Years to create the musical masterpiece 'Play' in 2018, peaking at Number 8 in the UK and being certified Silver.

8) 'Can We Dance' The Vamps

As well as being a well-known DJ, Jax Jones is also a talented songwriter, writing The Vamps' Number 2 hit, 'Can We Dance' with along with Bruno Mars and a number of other writers.

9) 'Text From Your Ex' Tinie Tempah

Not only did Jax make all of the above songs, but he's also credited as a co-writer and producer of Tinie Tempah's 'Text From Your Ex' featuring Tinashe, released on Tinie's 2017 album 'Youth'.

10) 'One Touch' Jess Glynne and Jax Jones

Jax wrote 'One Touch', which was a song released by Jess Glynne and him back in 2019. The song was a Top 20 song for the pair and featured Jax's trademark 'Whatcha Whatcha Gonna Do' at the beginning of the song. The track has since been certified Platinum, selling over 600k copies.

11) 'Ocean Drive' Duke Dumont

Way back in 2015, Jax wrote 'Ocean Drive', a song released by Duke Dumont. The song reached Number 13 in the UK Dance chart and was certified Platinum. The song has now had more than 753 million views on YouTube.

Does Jax Jones sing?

Jax sang on one of his tracks for the first time on his song 'Me and My Guitar'. Opening up about the personal meaning behind the single, he told us: "I've put out this new song, 'Me and My Guitar'. It's a little different from me because I'm singing on the song this time around.

"A common misconception of DJs is that you just put headphones on and push the buttons. With what I do, it all starts with the song, so I'm sitting in the studio writing songs and singing. I've been writing songs since I was 13."

He continued: "So yeah, these felt very natural in my creative journey, I just like to do something different, keep myself excited. Especially with this song, because it's a bit more personal. It's about being a young artist and having dreams, which a lot of creatives and people listening can relate to.

"You know what it's like, not everyone believes in you. So it's about that. It did feel like I need to communicate this myself."

Is Jax Jones married?

He sure is! Jax married his girlfriend in Thailand in November 2017, and revealed on Instagram that Jess Glynne sang at his wedding. Although Jax will quite often post photos with his wife on social media, it's hard to discover what she's actually called! However, in July 2024, after receiving an honorary doctorate from Brunel University, Jax thanked his wife and called her Diondra.

He told the Daily Star of his nuptials: "I'm off the market ladies, I'm sorry. We got married out in Thailand in the mountains. We had water buffalos greeting the guests as they came in, and then the most amazing pool party as the after-party. Everyone ended up in the pool suited and booted!"

Jax and his wife welcomed their first child in September 2020 - a little girl they named Lawana! In March 2023, the couple welcomed their second daughter, Ariyah.

In June 2024, Jax shared a cute pic with his wife, thanking her for all her support over the last 10 years. He wrote: 'since the start of Jax Jones 10 years ago my wife has been right there encouraging me. We did every show together. Jumping in the car after work to get to a show. probably unpaid lol.

'we have 2 beautiful kids now and she makes sure their life is stable at home and doesn’t get to come as much to celebrate what we have achieved career wise together. but last night mum and dad got to party!!! she’s the anr, social media team and more in one.

'just wanted to share because people see your success but it’s always a team effort. when you guys are successful hold on to that. 🥂🥂'. (sic)

Is he a doctor?

In July 2024, Jax took to social media to reveal he's now a Doctor in Business!

Sharing photos from his graduation, he told fans: 'Your boy is a doctor 😎 thank you @bruneluni for awarding me a Honourable Doctorate in Business. 🙏

'I graduated in Finance at Brunel in 2008 but I was also making music in my on a £50 computer I bought on gumtree. I must have made 10,000 songs in my life, but 50 of them have sold 60 million records.

'That’s why you got to keep going. Having a finance degree at the same time meant I could handle business. It definitely wasn’t easy so it means a lot to be seen like this. Stick to what you believe in, you very rarely make it first time 💫'. (sic)

Who says the 'Whatcha whatcha gonna do' on Jax Jones songs?

Jax Jones has a signature sound that he adds to most of his songs, a line saying 'Whatcha whatcha gonna do' which features on pretty much his entire back catalogue. In an interview with us, singer and producer MNEK confirmed it's actually him on Jax's songs!

Did Jax Jones perform at the Platinum Jubilee Concert?

He sure did! Jax performed at the Platinum Party in the Palace as part of Queen Elizabeth II's Jubilee celebrations. The show took place on 4th June 2022 with an incredible line-up of artists including Mabel, George Ezra, and Eurovision contestant Sam Ryder!

He started his set with his hit track 'You Don't Know Me', which he sang from a bedroom scene set up in front of Buckingham Palace. His incredible performance included West African dancers in tribute to his Nigerian step-father, a guitar that shoots fireworks, and some of his friends Stefflon Don, Mabel, and John Newman!

Jax later reflected on the experience sharing a throwback photo of himself, along with photos from his Jubilee performance. He captioned his photos: 'How it started ➡️ how it’s going now.

'I feel extremely blessed by the family i have in music and opportunities we experience. SE23 to Buckingham Palace 💚'. (sic)

2016: 'You Don't Know Me' with RAYE

In 2016, Jax Jones released 'You Don't Know Me' with RAYE. The song reached Number 3 in the UK and features a sample from the 2005 song 'Body Language' by M.A.N.D.Y. vs. Booka Shade.
The music video has now had more than 83 million views, with the 'visualiser' video having even more!

2018: 'Instruction' with Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don

Zumba favourite, 'Instruction' with Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don was a 2018 hit for Jax Jones. The song was written by MNEK, Stefflon Don, Demi Lovato and Jax Jones and was included on the deluxe edition of Demi's sixth studio album, 'Tell Me You Love Me' as well as Jax's 'Snacks' EP.

2018: 'Breathe' with Ina Wroldsen

Jax's third big hit was 'Breathe' in 2018, with Norwegian singer and songwriter Ina Wroldsen. The music video has become one of Jax's most popular with a massive 168 million views.

2018: 'Ring Ring' with Mabel and Rich the Kid

'Ring Ring' was the first collab Jax Jones did with Mabel and Rich the Kid. The song was successful reaching Number 12 in the charts and was certified Silver by the British Phonographic Industry.

2018: 'Play' with Years & Years

Back when Years & Years were a trio, Jax teamed up with them to release 'Play'. The song featured Olly Alexander's vocals and reached Number 8 in the UK.
The song was included on Jax's 'Snacks' EP and Years & Years' second studio album called 'Palo Santo'.

2019: 'All Day and Night' with Martin Solveig and Madison Beer

'All Day and Night' was a hit released by Jax Jones with Martin Solveig under their alias Europa, along with singer Madison Beer. The song was written by Jax and Martin along with, Becky Hill, Hailee Steinfeld and a team of songwriters.


The song performed particularly well in the dance charts, giving the trio a Number 1 on Billboard's Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, and a Number 2 in the UK Dance chart.

2019: 'One Touch' with Jess Glynne

'One Touch' was a hit for Jax with Jess Glynne back in 2019. It became a Top 20 hit for the pair and was also certified Platinum after selling 600,000 units in September 2024.

2019: 'This Is Real' with Ella Henderson

'This Is Real' with Ella Henderson was Jax's second single from his debut studio album 'Snacks (Supersize)'. The song reached Number 9 in the UK and the music video has now had more than 28 million views!

2020: 'Tequila' with Martin Solveig and RAYE

Once again, Jax Jones and Martin Solveig teamed up for their Europa project on another banger, this time with RAYE.
The song reached Number 2 in the UK Dance chart and the music video has now had more than 13 million views.

2021: 'Out Out' with Joel Corry featuring Charli XCX and Saweetie

What a tune, 'Out Out' was released in 2021 with fellow DJ Joel Corry and featured Charli XCX and Saweetie. 'Out Out' was another Top 10 hit for Jax and samples 'Alors on danse' by Belgian musician Stromae.

2022: 'Where Did You Go?' with MNEK

They might not have released a collab together since 'House Work' back in 2016, but MNEK's 'Whatcha whatcha gonna do' is regularly sampled on Jax Jones' hits. However, in 2022 we had a full on collab from the pair in the shape of 'Where Did You Go?'.
The song, written by both Jax and MNEK along with a team of writers and became another Top 10 hit for the pair.

2022: 'Good Luck' Mabel and Galantis

Mabel, along with Jax Jones and Galantis released 'Good Luck' which had a hedonistic music video. The song fused iconic elements of Jax Jones', and Galantis' music, with Mabel's euphoric voice.

2023: 'Whistle' with Calum Scott

On 10th February 2023, Jax released 'Whistle' with Calum Scott. The song features a 90s dance music vibe, which Jax explained was him: "Digging into my influences from when I was a teenager."

2023: 'I Need You' with DJ D.O.D

Jax Jones released a new song with DJ D.O.D called 'I Need You'. The new song is an uptempo dance tune which is bound to get you onto the dancefloor.

2024: 'Never Be Lonely' with Zoe Wees / Cascada

Jax Jones released 'Never Be Lonely' with Zoe Wees in February 2024, a month later also releasing a version of the hit with Cascada.
