Cian Ducrot releases his heart-breaking song 'Part of Me' 😢

Cian Ducrot, who has recently been touring with Ed Sheeran, on his mini UK and Europe tour, has released his heart-breaking song 'Part of Me'. He revealed previously that the song was one of the hardest to write, but also very important, as it was written after the death of his friend in 2019.
The singer took to Instagram to share a short clip of the song, paying tribute to his late friend Phil and telling his fans: 'Part of Me is out now. Philly, I miss you every day 🤍🕊'.
Fans were quick to congratulate the singer on the song, but also sympathise with him, and the loss of this friend, writing: 'such an amazing song, cried my eyes out in bham to this, you can tell it means so much to you, philly would be so so proud xo' (sic), another fan commented: 'so beautiful. Your friend will be so so proud of you. I know I definitely am. Yiur amazing ❤️'. (sic)
What is the inspiration behind his Cian Ducrot's 'Part of Me'?
Cian explained the inspiration to his fans, writing on Twitter: 'Part Of Me - out March 31st 🤍 One of the hardest songs I ever had to write but probably the most important one, on December 2nd 2019 I got the news that my best-friend had taken his life.'
He then continued in the Twitter thread: 'A beautiful life way too short lived, the news has taken years to swallow and is something I will never quite understand but this song was a moment where I tried to process some of it. Now it's yours and I hope it can help you process something you need to.
'Life should never be cut short, it is too precious. If you're struggling you're not alone I love you and the people around love you.
'Phily I miss you every day and you'll always be a part of me 🤍'.
Since revealing the inspiration, fans have been replying to the tweet, with many saying how they have been affected by the loss of a friend or family member. One fans wrote: 'I lost 2 brothers in the space of 4 months. Grief is something else! sadnest, anger, shock and numbness. Heard you sing this song live a few times and it's emotional' (sic), with another commenting: 'Loved hearing the song Live brought a lump to my throat and goosebumps on my arms I lost a cousin to suicide over 20 years ago now ❤️❤️'.
Another sympathised with the singer writing: 'Such an emotional song, heard it live on Thursday. I can't imagine the pain you went through writing it, but I do hope that writing helps you get through things. This song will help so many people navigate their grief.'.

'Part of Me' is out now, it was released on Friday 31st March.

The Scissors Sisters are returning for a UK tour, performing in Nottingham, Glasgow, Manchester, London, Leeds, Birmingham and more in May 2025. The last time the band were on tour was back in 2012 with their 'Let's Have A Kiki Tour', named after a song on their fourth album 'Magic Hour'. This new tour will feature Jake Shears, Babydaddy and Del Marquis and celebrate the release of their debut album.
