In March 2026, Ariana Grande started to tease her eighth studio album, later confirming the name and release date, decribing it as: "Something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging".

Now that the album has arrived and the UK is gearing up for the singer to arrive for her 'Eternal Sunshine Tour', let's find out more about 'petal'. On the album's release date, Ariana shared a series of black and white, grainy, blurred photos. Some of the photos are of herself, while it's not clear what the others are. She captioned the photo: 'petal ꕤ 。˚ album out now'.

In April 2026, the name of the album was announced as 'petal'. Ari announced the news on social media with a black and white photo of herself, writing: 'petal 7.31'.

It was released on Friday 31st July 2026.

Brighter Days Hotline

As part of the release of 'Eternal Sunshine Deluxe: Brighter Days Ahead', Ariana launched the Brighter Days Hotline. Originally playing a message about the deluxe edition of the album, the message has been changed several times over the past year, with the most recent to celebrate one year since the release of the deluxe album and short film.

On 28th March 2026, the message on the hotline was changed to one which said: "Hello, and thank you for calling the Brighter Days Ahead Hotline, we just wanted to say thank you all so much to all of our loyal customers for making this last year together, something we'll never want to forget. Our staff here at Brighter Days are so looking forward to continuing our mission of bringing happiness and healing to as many as we can this summer in person. We're counting down the 8s - Oops! I mean the days! We'll see you this summer and remember there are always Brighter Days ahead!"

Fans believed this intentional slip of the tongue, saying "8s - Oops! I mean the days", was an indication the eighth album would be out soon.

Also on the anniversary of the release of 'Brighter Days Ahead', Ariana shared a video which was 1 minute 8 seconds long. Many fans saw this as another indication the album was coming soon. This is because her next album is her eighth.

Instagram photo dump

When teasing her seventh album Ariana would post things on dates beginning with a seven, she did the same thing with dates ending in an eight this time around.

She posted a photo dump on 18th March at exactly 8pm, causing a stir amongst fans. Not long after, record producer Max Martin reportedly reposted Ari's post confirming it was at the studio where the singer recorded some songs for her 'Sweetener' album.
