Fans of TV personality Denise Van Outen were left in shock earlier this month, when the 47-year-old announced she'd split from her fiancé Eddie Boxshall after seven years together.

Up until now, Eddie has remained silent about the shock split, despite Denise releasing a lengthy statement on social media last week.

However, Celebrity Gogglebox star Eddie has now broken his silence, seemingly posting a very cryptic message about the split to his Instagram page.

Turning off the comments on his post, Eddie shared a banner with the words 'Don't Believe Everything You Read', seemingly making reference to some of the reports about the former couple in the press.

Following the sad split, Denise took to her own social media last week, admitting it had been a 'difficult decision'.

Sharing a snap of herself and her two dogs on Instagram, the former Chicago performer wrote: 'Over the past couple of months, there has been much speculation regarding my relationship with Eddie. It saddens me to confirm that we are no longer a couple. I had to make the difficult decision not to continue in our relationship. I will always treasure the good times we spent together, and the memories made. We ask that you please respect our privacy at this time, especially for our children❤️.'

As fans will know, Denise and Eddie were favourites on Channel 4's Celebrity Gogglebox, sharing their hilarious views on the nation's favourite TV shows.

Denise had previously spoke about attending couple's therapy with Eddie, saying on their joint podcast last year: "There’s been no official proposal yet but we talk about getting married a lot. One day I commented that I never understood why a lot of people dive into marriage without ironing out their niggles first because the problems just creep up on them years later.

"That’s when we came up with this fun idea for a podcast series for myself and Eddie which would involve having counselling to sort out flaws that most people brush under the carpet before we venture into matrimony."
